Underpaid yes. They should be able to live, without donations. Also, I think many other sports are waaaaaay OVERPAID. I understand that those sports are more popular to the public, and this is why I love the Olympics. It makes swimming visible. Out of the swimming world, people unfortunately don't know many pro-swimmers. If I ask my theater-friends they just say: "Isn't one called Michael something?". I think this says a lot on how under-broadcasted swimming is outside of the Olypmics.
But we as a swimming community can help. Make our sport more approachable. Share your passion with non-swimmers. Talk about your national athletes.
true
They are underpaid. That said, professional athletes are held to the popularity and revenue of their sport and no chance swimming makes anything near stuff like EPL, NBA, MLB etc
whatâs epl
@@rackzz9358 English Premier League.
@@laggers54 never heard of it
@@rackzz9358 Are you being serious? haha. It's probably the biggest league in the world, its football (soccer).
@@laggers54 oh
Underpaid and under appreciated
I have to pay to swim :)
This is great want more tips on securing deals
Swimmers are so underpaid
Getting a ball in a hoop vs swimming 200 fly likeâŠ.why do swimmers get paid less than that
Ik especially the fact that we train like 8 times a week!
Most Olympians are under-paid. Yet coca-cola and McDonaldâs earns billion at the olympics with advertisements
We as a swimmers need to promote the sport. Cause it's one of the best sports for your health and you can do it your whole life. Cause you rearely see a football or a basketball 45+ player on the feeld. And in my pool there a lot of people 45+. And it's very rare to gain a trauma in swimming unless you're a pro.
Is this a reposted video?
yes, not sure why
Yes, they are reuploading many. This is not the first.
Yes I think they are definitely they should be paid loads more
Of course they are underpaid
i think is not really close enough to compare with tennis, football or another field of sport,
GROWN MEN PLAYING LITTLE BOY GAMES AND GETTING PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. NO ATHLETE OF ANY SPORT IS WORTH 39 MILLION DOLLARS NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE.
Nice of the United States to pay for a Toyota Camry if you win an Olympic gold medal. Well not the entire cost. About 70%. Why does a swimmer need a car anyway, you canât even use it in a pool.
Itâs not bout the salary itâs all about reality and making some noise!
i dont think that noise work without money

Swimmers are brokeđđ
Hi Good Morning Day Everybody and Good Afternoon.
0:51 you said soccer but IT IS FOOTBALL!!!!!!?!
APA pays 40k a year (before tax) is a joke
I donât think they are underpaid. I want them to be paid millions for the years of hard work and dedication but thatâs not how life works. They are paid what the market can support. Swimming is nowhere near as popular as basketball or tennis and most of the headline events arenât even televised in most countries except the Olympics which happen once in a blue moon. The sport of swimming needs to grow and capture peopleâs hearts and minds and become something people want to do themselves or think about participating in and fantasise about themselves becoming a Ledecky, Dressel or Phelps. 46% of Americans report being afraid of deep water and it grows to 64% when talking open water. If youâre scared of going into deep water, how can you fantasise about one day being a Michael and buy the goggles Michael wears? Or his cap?
Humans arenât water-orientated. Most donât care about water sports. If this ever changes, then swimmers will be paid what they are worth
Very underpaid âčïž
swimmers are way under paided i feel bad
For sure they are underpaid.
For all the time they practice? Definitely underpaid. No comparison of athleticism versus basketball, baseball, etc.
Thatâs a lie. Swimming definitely requires way more muscles and aerobic fitness. But the fast twitch response, strength, situational awareness and the amount of times they have to compete definitely does compare.
swimmers are super underpaid specially in india!!!!!!!!!
I think swimmers should be paid roughly ÂŁ500,000 a year I know this may be a bit too much but the risk they take and all the hard work they put in. Football is too much pay just for kicking a ball around? Stupid. I am actually only 10 and I go for a club in the U.K .
I started swimming when I was 3 so for 7 years and I have developed a lot.
My best stroke is F.C I could go up to 8 mph in that and my worst is breaststroke.
Will say nothing about swimmers but others are definitely overpayed! Especially that basketball crap.
Lebron is over rated, over hype, over change teams, over paid, ... People who idolize him are so dum8.
