Thank you for this review! I have an ESV Study Bible but got thrown off when I read the Lord's prayer in Luke 11 and saw how they omitted "let your will be done on Earth, as it is in heaven". So I was searching for an informative, but pretty study KJV Bible and this looks perfect for me.

So many Christian bookstores have closed their doors and it is so hard to really see a Bible before purchasing one so I try to show them up close for others that are in the same boat as me as far as not having a Christian bookstore to go to. I have been watching on my other channel for a long time your videos I have bought many bibles recommended by your self for studying and they are so helpful but this is one of my favourites.

Had bible study the other night at work and felt driven to give my bible to a coworker who didn’t have a bible and really really needs to learn more about Jesus. I am giving this study bible to me. I won’t be giving this one away, I’ll leave it to my brothers to be convinced by the spirit to give away their bible next time. LOL.. It really felt good filling out the presentation section. It was a new bible so it was ever so slightly second hand.

I just purchased a brand new one a few days ago and received it this morning (November 22, 2023) and decided to give my old one to a friend of mine who was just thrilled because the old one was still in excellent condition and he had told me how much he wanted one because of the Greek and Hebrew concordance in the back which will help him in his sermon studies.
I think Thomas Nelson hit the ball out of the park and into the next county with this Bible.
It’s interesting to note that theses Bibles are produced in a Communist nation that is horribly persecuting Christians every day but God’s word won’t be stopped!!!!👍📖✝
Who's to say that while they are producing these Bibles in China that someone won't read it and be converted. Never underestimate what God is doing!

Thanks for the review. I've been meaning to get a KJV study Bible. I'm leaning toward this one. This would be a nice addition to my other study Bibles. I really like how this one has doctrinal notes that go right along with the Scripture passages. That's a great feature. Has a nice font size for a study Bible.

This is one of the prettiest Bibles I own, as far as color goes, along with the illustrated NLT Study Bible. I think the Bakers Illustrated Study Bible would be another full of color. Anyway, I love the archeological info and pictures in this Bible -it really brings the Bible to life. Another feature that I really like is in the beginning it gives you different ways to study the Bible, which I appreciated. Just gorgeous, thanks for the review.
Winnie Spencer it is a beautiful Bible! I like the full color in this one. The full color by Holman is really nice as well. The CSB Illustrated is a great Bible but it doesn’t have as much full color as I would have expected but it has amazing paper and it’s really well done....so many awesome Bibles and only so much time to read!

The character profiles seem pretty unique in this one. I don’t think I’ve seen that in any other study Bible unless they’re really centered on it. Looks like a good blend of theological, archeological, and psychological study!

Great review! I'm ordering this Study Bible, except I'm getting the Black Genuine Leather. It has 4 good sized raised hubs and a black and red ribbon marker. I'm getting this because of the history, maps, and archaeology. I'm a history buff. I absolutely love history and archaeology. This will be joining my KJV Bible collection. I have other Bible versions, but I prefer the KJV over other Bible versions. I've been reading the KJV ever since I was a kid. I really enjoy and appreciate your Bible reviews. The genuine leather edition is nice! It’s an awesome Bible. I’ve read more of the study notes in this one than I have in any of my other study Bibles. All the extra feature in it are great! Now I want to get it and do my daily reading from it, sometimes I’ll put one back on the shelf cause I’m busy prepping to review other Bibles and then when I go back to it it’s like it is brand new to me all over again. But this one is an excellent Bible, this one is the large print edition which is also easier on the eyes. You’ll love the leather edition, a friend of mine has that one and she loves it. The spine on it looks awesome too! I love raised hubs on a Bible. When you first get it you’re not going to want to put it down! I’m excited for you to get it! This one is an older one and I have heard that they have redone it in the newer printings but I haven’t seen one in person to compare it with. The colors in this one are very good though.

I just bought this Bible in the imitation leather for $29 it's going to be my Christmas Bible I got the second edition I have a copy of the first edition the 1988 model so I had to watch your review on it I'm so happy

Finally got this Bible after a long wait😇 this one and the Holman full colour study Bible are a must have. I sat last night flipping through this Bible and I noticed that there are only 5 photos in the book introductions. Like Genesis to Deuteronomy and then from Joshua - 2nd Sam they repeat and so on. But in Holman every pic on the book title is different and has some description in it.
This is my favorite go-to study Bible.

Picked this up Friday; I have another KJV one that's got cream and purple colored leather, but this one looks like it goes more into detail with notes to make the KJV translation easier for me to understand (the ESV to me is the most accurate), and it's wonderful to see what the Holy Land looks like, praise God.
Mine actually has two satin ribbon markers though.

I do add to your view counts, just admitting that. Unfortunately, my best friend whom I bought this for lives on the east coast while I live on the west coast, so I can't run over to her house and SEE it. (That's why I keep running up your views on this one.) I have found your Bible Reviews truly the best on CZcams. Yes, there are other good reviewers. But you do your homework first, noted by the little pieces of paper you put in to get to the important points of the Bible. I never walk away from one of your Bible Reviews without feeling like I not only know what is inside, but have the full flavor of the main draws to whichever Bible you are reviewing. I can't say enough how much I appreciate that. When one doesn't have the money to buy just any Bible at any time, it helps a ton to see what is in it. I've gotten so spoiled that when I see the Bible reviewer's face on a Bible review, I'm done! I don't care what the reviewer looks like, I care what the Bible looks like and especially what is in it. Once again, I haven't seen another reviewer do their homework like you do and it accounts for more sales with much much less buyer's remorse! Thank you so much.

I have the original KJV Study Bible by Thomas Nelson. It was published in the 80's. I think it has pretty much everything this one has, but it was printed in the good ole USA. This one , like many other Bibles published today, is printed in China. I will never, ever, buy another Bible printed in China.
Why would you not buy one from China?
@@tyedison2114 I will not buy anything from China, especially a Bible, because the Communist Chinese government persecutes, tortures, and kills Christians in China. It is a completely anti-Christ government, and no Christian should buy anything from them or do anything else to contribute to their economy. I pray for the Christians there, while I pray for the Communist Chinese government to be destroyed. They are the enemies of Christ and He is definitely their enemy.
It's not published by the Chinese Communist Party. Only the printing. It's cheaper to print in China, I guess.
What is so cool about this book is that it's concordance uses Strong's numbers too.

I read with it just a bit, but it was more for my collection, rather than to use. BUT! I never knew all the awesome study features of this Bible until just now, as I watched your video. WOWIE! I just ordered this bible from Amazon for $44
I have this bible in genuine leather. It is the same leather used by Humble Lamb. I believe this is Nelson’s flagship bible. The Nelson’s nkjv study bible is in plain text and colorized. I have the plain text, but the print is too small. Nelson’s KJV study bible is an great answer to the ESV, NIV Calvinist slanted study bibles.
I really like this study bible and am torn between it or the NKJV Mcarthur study bible, second edition. Do you know if this particular TN study bible comes in the NKJV as well, as I prefer NKJV over KJV? I like all the archeological information of it, but would prefer it in the NKJV. Thanks and great review.

I bought this one for my best friend and she and I are so excited waiting for it to arrive! This so impressed me that if I could comprehend the KJV without a whole dictionary of terms next to me constantly, I'd buy it for myself. But, I see that Thomas Nelson has put out a Bible very much like it in the NKJV which I can understand!
PLEASE (praying too) can you do a Thomas Nelson NKJV Study Bible Large Print review? I'm seriously thinking of sinking money into it. But here is what I heard from another reviewer who I don't have as much confidence in as I do you:
The review said that the NKJV Study Bible ARTICLES (and some commentary) basically tries to "straddle the fence" on controversial issues such as whether or not women should hold offices in the church (meaning authority over a mixed crowd, not women's studies official positions) and while explaining fully what the three (or is it four now?) positions are on the rapture -- which is fine, it goes on to try to explain that any view is basically okay. What this other reviewer kept pointing out, is that it "doesn't take a hard line stand" on different controversial topics. If it's not in the text then it shouldn't. But that's not what I mean. There is a whole section called "Biblical Book to Contemporary Hook" written by D.A. Carson to give an example. I need to know if that is consistent through many articles or sections or even in the commentary. I don't care about contemporary, I'm already living here. What I need is the history. I loved the detail you gave on the review I'm commenting on (Thomas Nelson KJV Study Bible Large Print) about how MANY archaeological pictures and drawings are included plus information about them. In other words, I need to study about Biblical times, which I obviously did not live in. I can study contemporary looking out my window. (P.S. If you know of a different translation minus this problem other than KJV, please let me know and point me to your review or a review you would highly recommend.)
I'm also asking because if I buy this because of YOUR review (I haven't found a single review of yours that isn't extremely reliable!!!) I want to get one for my mom. She's 90 and so there is a sense of urgency to me. And over time I'll want to get one for my only child. Thanks! I know I can only ask. Thanks for taking the time to read my long post. And....I hope you already have one. I couldn't find it searching your page.
I don’t have the large print NKJV edition but I have the regular one but I just haven’t reviewed it yet. And I actually kind of like that they don’t take a firm stance on some things because that makes you study it more for yourself vs just taking their word on it so to me I don’t mind that they’re not firm on it. All of the notes I’ve read in this one have been very good though and I haven’t seen any that I’ve had an issue with at all. I’ve also liked the notes in the life application study Bibles but they’re not full color which I really prefer a study Bible to have full color and to have lots of actual photos of Biblical artifacts etc. The ESV study Bible is another one that is very good and that one is offered in a wide variety of cover styles and sizes, they have a regular size, large print and a personal size edition. Another one that is very unique is the FaithLife Illustrated Study Bible which is available in the NKJV and NIV. I reviewed the NIV edition, that one has tons of really unique illustrations that hat I’ve never seen in any other study Bible and it really keeps you engaged. I think the full color editions hold peoples attention more than just one or two colors of text. Because you can see an image and associate it with the part of scripture it is in and it helps you to remember it. For you mom I would opt for a giant print edition with 14-17pt font so it’s easy on her eyes to read from. That can be a big factor for getting someone to read it especially when they’re older but also think of where she will read it cause some of the giant print ones can be bulky. The new Thomas Nelson Giant Print editions of the NKJV and KJV are very nice and are really affordable, $40-50 retail which means you can get it for a lot less. Once I am caught up on the Bibles I’ve got stacked up for the next reviews I’ll do a video of the full color NKJV. Holman also has a full color study Bible in the KJV, NKJV and CSB, I’ve reviewed the KJV and CSB editions already. They have a great layout and a lot of great info in them. I bought this same Bible. It is very nice. The raised designs on the soft leather give it a very nice upscale look and feel. Gypsy Lane did a review of the full leather edition (which I saw your comment on). The leather edition has 2 ribbons and raised ribs. It is nice as well. However, the design work on this one wins for me. I think I will add a few ribbons to it. Have you done any videos on adding ribbons? I have seen several and was just wondering if you did.
George Smart it’s a great Bible! The genuine leather one my good friend Gypsy showed looks extremely nice, the cover on hers is beautiful. Thomas Nelson did an awesome job on this one. I haven’t done a video on ribbons replacements yet. I may have to do one in 2019. I’ve changed the ribbons in several Bibles and it can make a big difference. this is like the evangelical study bible that just came out but that is NKJV. The NKJV version of this study bible has different authors and format for the commentary and notes. This is good however if you want a KJV bible and need explanation for the specific of the KJV that may be difficult for a modern reader to understand along with all he other notes related to the greek and Hebrew.
Looks like a "must have”.

I have been truly blessed I received mine on Wednesday. Along with my already existing daily devotional plan I am eager to add more to it. Currently I read our daily bread followed by journey through buy our Daily Bread Ministries then I finish off with each new day by Corrie ten boom. With this Bible I am eager to add more to my daily any suggestions on how I can add to my daily?

I recently got engaged and I have been asked what I would like as a gift! I cant decide between asking for this one or the Faithlife bible (in the NKJV not NIV) you have reviewed on your channel as well! I was wondering in your opinion, which would I get more out of, I can always come back later and purchase the other. Miss Via if you’re looking at one more for the notes then I’d go with this one but if you want more visual engagement with charts, maps and illustrations then I’d go with the Faithlife. I really like the notes in this one but the Faithlife one is so visually appealing with all the full color illustrations which are very unique and many of them I have never seen before. I haven’t read as many of the notes in the Faithlife just cause all of the other content captivates me and I lose track of time. They’re both awesome Bibles but I’d ask yourself if you want it more to read the notes or for all of th other content and then go with the one that appeals to what you want from it. Notes-this one. This will be my go to Bible for church because of the Greek and Hebrew terms in the notes something that the Holman study Bible don't have I wish it had a Bible reading plan

I do have some reviews of some kids Bibles on my channel and depending on his age I’d recommend the hands on Bible or the boys life application study Bible or the teen life application study Bible. Those are all really good. I haven’t seen anything quite like this for younger people though. Christian book has some different options if you search their Bibles and refine the search to teens, boy, teen boys, tweens or child, they have those different options in their “audience” search field.

Between the two I would go with the one that you prefer the translation most. If you’re an ESV fan then I’d go with that one but if you love the KJV this one is great. Hey there iv been looking at the beauty 4 a while .and i acually found it cheaper on amazon then Christian book the only question i have is will highlighters bleed threw .i despise the gel ones.
I have not used highlighters in this one but have been told by others that pens and highlighters do well on this paper cause it has a slight sheen to it and I think the coating helps. I would test it in an inconspicuous spot though just to be safe. I prefer regular highlighters over gel as well.

Out of all the ones I have I have read more of the notes in this one than any of the others. The Holman one is awesome too but I tend to reach for this one cause of the large print. This one or the Holman would be awesome and the Holman one also comes in a large print too. I really like this one and the Holman. I like a full color study Bible cause I find it to be much more engaging than just black and white and the photos are very helpful in learning as well. If you get the Nelson one just make sure the box has the “lay flat” binding icon on it cause the older ones are glued and not sewn. The Holmans are sewn. Hopefully that helps. I haven’t noticed anything unusual or inconsistent about it. When I have used it I’ve really enjoyed it. I rotate and use so many different Bibles in preparing to do reviews on them so I don’t use any one Bible a whole lot, they get switched up all the time. Is this Bible good for a beginner? I tried a normal Bible by KJ and looked hard to understand the meaning of old words and expressions. That's why im looking for a study one where i can get explanation for everything. Great review btw!
David DiCaprio if you want a KJV this would be a great one to get. If you love the poetic language of the KJV but want something that has the older word meanings already updated then I would recommend the NKJV & they offer a full color version of this study Bible in the NKJV and also have the two color version. I think the full color editions are more engaging and draw you in more due to the colors. Holman also has a great full color study Bible in both translations as well. Both KJV and NKJV are great translations but the NKJV will be easier to understand and is translated from the same manuscripts. I hope that helps. I am not sure if the notes are the same or not. I’ve never done a comparison of them but I would think they’d use the same ones just to make it easier.

I really like them both but I tend to use this one more and it’s probably only cause it has a larger font size. Some people think this one has superior study notes than the Holman. The notes I’ve read in both have been very good. If they both had the same font size it would be tough to pick one over the other.
