Ya see if you would only educate yourself on history you would learn that practically all races and cultures were victims of slavery and mistreatment. In fact even today slavery is widely practiced in Africa by Africans. Black African royalty and wealthy were also the persons who captured blacks and sold them for slavery. Many white Europeans and Hispanic slaves were sold and owned by the Spanish. Egyptians were slaves owners as well....the list goes on and on. But let's not forget the first slave owner was black and about 3,000 blacks owned slaves. Read and watch Thomas Sowell and other historians. STOP the EXCUSES!

Also when they catch you or your family members with drugs, they send them to rehabilitation, they catch us with the same drugs, they put our children under DCFS custody and put the parent in jail. These seemingly small differences cause major issues that you and your people caused and never fixed

Even if we exclude slavery, do you think that the Civil War era, Reconstruction era, Post-Reconstruction era, Jim Crow era, and the Civil Rights era was a breeze for blacks?
You stated stop the excuses very confidently as if there's always been a level playing field for blacks here in America when this is absolutely FALSE. Tell me, do you know how many atrocities that whites have committed against blacks in this country? While the race riots of 1921 in the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma was more infamously known and talked about there have been MANY others prior to AND since that time as well.
Do you not know what the government was doing with COINTEL PRO?
Do you not know what happened to thousands of blacks during the Tuskegee Experiment?
Do you not know about all the documented lynching's having occurred since the 1800's and well into the 1950's?
How about the barriers to education faced by blacks beginning prior to the Civil War and up to 1962 when the first African-American was able to enroll in a college (James Meredith - University of Mississippi).
Do you think Redlining blacks into old communities with failing infrastructure, food accessibility, and poor schools was not a problem?
Did you know that blacks were not allowed to play professional sports until the 1940's?
Did you know that the government conspired to use the war on drugs to support two agendas 1) Iran-Contra war and 2) sending blacks to the prison industrial complex which saw lots of a certain ppl making ton's of money off of this investment.
There's so many more things that have impacted black communities, it's not just about slavery, our plight has affected us and despite our progress in some areas, there's still too many of our kids who are born into terrible situations that they had no say-so in.
I bet if they interviewed that kid he'd check off all the boxes of what's wrong with many of our children, and he just finally crashed out throwing away his life.

Fifty wards in Chicago. Six maybe seven are high crime areas. Bring in the National Guards to patrol those wards. This is a National Emergency and more police isn't the answer. Most is afraid and there number one job is to make it home. Not stop crime.
