- We tear down and rebuild the Ranchtang with a twin turbo'd, twin intercooled, twin water pumped 6.0 Powerstroke, and a full tilt 900HP rated transmission from Randys Transmission.

Add a second alternator driven off of the pinion on the rear end chunk. Any time he's got the huge amp demands on the alternator, the rear wheels will be spinning and the second alternator will be engaged. It's a pretty standard thing that's used a lot on pavement oval racing cars (late model stock cars, modifieds, street stocks, etc), so the bracketry and even the alternators themselves are readily available from several oval racing parts suppliers.
Need to put a sticker on the Ranchtang for Randy's Transmission!!

When you have that much electronics going on, my advice would be throw a 16 volt alternator on it. Yes it's over powered but but it should drop enough. Also, a lot of drag cars run an alternator off the drive shaft. Killer build on the the set up, it performed flawlessly. Hope he didn't hurt it too bad

Pretty funny Matt smashed the reverse solenoid before he even got to event. But it still won! Was hoping the focus would be on cooling and that was definitely achieved. Then with the compounds, fuel system, other cooling components and trans it was nuts. Not to mention the hundreds of hours of work. You guys killed it again! 💪🏁
