    Got a kukri myself, and that is one great looking blade. Definitely a keeper. I will say a T-Rex's fingernail isn't one of its intimidating attributes.

    I like it Tim but for 300 bucks I could get something just as effective a lot cheaper but thank you for the look

    Although I don’t necessarily agree with all their designs, there is no question in my mind that Tops makes a high quality product.

    Love this Tops Blade for clearing and grubbing up here in Appalachia. Tops for the Win.

    Better than a standard machete, but pretty much a uni-tasker. If you have money to burn, why not. Would be great for thinning out hunting areas or trails, but probably best to save the money and use a tad extra effort with the all purpose kukri. Good review, particularly the last couple minutes of summary.

    I have a Ka-Bar Reinhardt kukri which is great for clearing brush but the curve of the blade at the end can give glancing blows. This straight blade looks like it would solve that problem

    Ive always liked different and with with the similarities of my favorite blade design (kukri) I think this is a great tool for the woods. Liking the length also. Another to consider if you want something slightly shorter would be the Storm Vector... Very cool design as well... Thanks for the vid man...

    Sweet zombie blade. I’d consider buying it for about 80 bucks. It’s just a long malformed Kukri. Better metal more contour I would buy it for 300+. And only as a zombie and or meth head apocalypse weapon.

    A T-rex fingernail is definitely not what I had pictured when I first sae this blade lol-ol-ol I thought more so boomerang but yes it definitely looks like it'd be a very effective chopper indeed...

    I have the TOPS Vector, and it's a damn good chopper, but I bet this one is even better with that Kukri-esque shaped blade! I doubt I'll buy one since I already have the Vector, but I am surely tempted.

    It seems like a lot of the Tops products are only available on back order especially at the KC. In fact the KC does not even list the Beastia. Does Tops have a supply chain issue?

    Just remember folks form defines the function, and creates both the abilities and the limitations of any thing, tool or not, animate or not. Overall though looks pretty good, other than the way it looks, I'd use it in a pinch. Good assesment Tim, well done on that. It seems to me that, at least to this Blacksmith, etc. It's more of a cleaving weapon. My preference is that I wouldn't use it but only because in experience as a designer, maker and user of tools etc, there are better options. Seems to me that it's not Tops best effort.

    I like the design, the sheath, length, and thickness. Different machetes serve different purposes. I could see this as a good chopper. My favorite slasher machete is KA-BAR Adventure Parangatang with 1095 Cro-Van at about $80. The Beastia is too expensive for 1095 steel. Good review.

    • @Swearengen1980
      @Swearengen1980 Před 11 měsíci +1

      That's the biggest issue with Tops. $300+ for 1095 is just stupid.

    I just don't get the idea of a massive chopping blade? A saw is lighter and more quiet. If true chopping is required i find a hatchet or ax is better.

    • @MovieGuy666
      @MovieGuy666 Před 2 lety

      it's made for limb removal and hacking up flesh, I think this guy ignores the self defense purpose of the blade so he doesn't get his video demonetized.
