    Hey I just want to say, that I was very impressed with you’re video breakdown of the TRX. I was TRX Certified back in 2013 and did some videos for 24 hour Fitness and have been a master trainer for years. You really explained thing very well and gave examples so other people can get an idea what you are talking about. Unlike other reviews where they just say the difference with no explanation. So great job man and keep on inspiring individuals to get out of there own mental prison and explore the world of fitness !!!

    New subscriber here, and you have answered the most important questions for me. Being elderly and retired, and as much as I would like to save some bucks, if there's one thing that I've learned in this life, you usually get what you pay for. If I can't afford something today, I usually wait until I can afford the "better" product, so I'll be looking for the TRX Pro 4. Thanks and Blessings Sir, I appreciate your professinalism!

    Thanks so much for your thorough and valuable comparison. The difference between the foam and rubber handles sold me on spending a few extra bucks to get the model that will remain most like new. I am not a professional trainer. My wife and I plan to use our TRX at home, but won't hesitate to take it with us when we travel. It appears that there's a 14 oz, difference between the Pro and the Tactical models. With my circumstances, would you but the Pro IV or the Tactical model?

    • @FDMXfitness
      @FDMXfitness  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah definitely get one with rubber handles. As far as which one? If you are really going to travel a lot and bring one with you I would lean towards the tactical. You can ball it up and throw it in a bag easier also. But remember that the foot cradles do not adjust. So if your wife has smaller feet and plans on doing some leg exercises it may be an issue. Either way, both are excellent suspension trainers and will last through years of training

    Thanks for uploading the video! I didn’t know about the differences. I bought my Tactical TRX about 8 years ago, but hardly used it because my gym acquired the TRX. With the COVID-19, I’ve “dusted off” my Tactical TRX and take it to an empty shopping parking garage for my daily workout. I’m so glad that I have a Tactical TRX. I didn’t know it weighed less than the other premium TRX, but since you mentioned it, I noticed it. The sand in the Velcro is something that people should seriously consider if they intend to use it outdoors. Once sand gets into the Velcro, it’s safety is compromised.

    Can I replace damaged foam with dumbbell handle grips, foot grips, etc.?
    What if I don't know the size of the plastic cylinder under the foam?
    (I don't have a TRX yet, so I can't measure it myself)
    It is undeniable that the grip may become too thick
    TRX PRO 4 has become a strong purchase candidate
    It's been a while, so I feel like the TRX PRO will soon come with a dustproof function.
    Also, I have a feeling that there will be a tactical kit model that matches the size of the foot.

    Great video. Like so many others I'm here looking at getting a TRX, since the gym is closed over COVID-19. I'd be the only person using it, I wear a U.S. size 10 shoe, would the non-adjustable strap on the Tactical be an issue for my foot size? I kind of like the army color scheme of the Tactical, but I'd be worried I'd be giving up the functional benefits w/ the adjustable footstrap and heavier material. Given the current situation, its a little harder to run to the store and check it out in person.

      Would you say both models offer similar durability? Their site says the tactical is their most rugged but dunno if that’s just cuz it’s army coloured or what... Do you know off hand what weight the Tactical carabiner is tested for, the site says 1300lbs for the Pro4, but nothing for the Tactical. Have you reviewed the TRX Force App? I know thst was something extra the Tactical includes but not the Pro4. Just curious about these small differences between those two models.

      Thank you for watching and spending some of your time with us! The xtender would only be needed if you have very tall ceilings. If doesn’t make an exercise harder. That would be up to you! A quick fix for foam handles coming apart is to wrap it with a tennis racket overgrip (rubberised tape). They’re cheap and come with different feel and are used on tennis rackets to adjust for bigger or smaller hands. Very helpful video...thank you! You mentioned you are a size 11, would a size 14 sneaker (I'm 6'4") slip through the foot cradle on the Tactical version when doing lunges, floor bridges, etc? I am trying to decide between the Tactical and Pro 4. I like the lighter nylon webbing used on the Tactical for several reasons, one of which is that it's lighter for travel as you mentioned (was also told it is stronger and more durable...significance here meaning lighter but no less strong). Ultimately, total body functionality is most important to me...so if a size 14 foot (non-boot) will slip through the foot cradle, that would be significant. Would really appreciate your thoughts and recommendation. Thank you!

    • @FDMXfitness
      @FDMXfitness  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks for the comment! And I would say no.. If you wear a 14 your foot should be more than fine. If I wear basketball ball shoes (not workout shoes) my foot won’t slip through. So you should be good to go! Thanks again! Come back to see us for some TRX workouts! 👍💪

      @@FDMXfitness Thank you! Curious though, you said in your video that the TRX Pro 4 was "definitely your favorite TRX"... is this just bkz of the adjustable foot strap? If you had a size 14 foot, would you still choose the Pro 4 or would you prefer the Tactical? Thank you!

    • @FDMXfitness

    • @Questtt3
      @Questtt3 Před 2 lety +1

      @@FDMXfitness Thank you - I appreciate your follow-up...it was very helpful. While I liked the Tactical's weight and the strength of the nylon strap material ... what you said about the significance of the adjustable foot cradle for certain leg-related exercises like lunges, etc made the Pro4 seem more functionally appealing. Despite having large feet (14), it seemed like being able to strap the cradle tight might be one less distraction for leg work...allowing one to better focus on good form and not what must be done to keep foot from slipping through the cradle. It's tough without actually trying both to know if this reasoning holds true, but decided to go with Digi Camo Pro4. Thank you!

      Have not tried the TRX go yet... all TRX trainers that I have tried have been sturdy and strong. But if the the price is half, I doubt it has rubber handles which I prefer. But like I said they are all strong enough to support your body weight 👍💪💪

  • @DC-go1sd
    @DC-go1sd Před 4 lety +2

    Thanks for this video. I have a TRX dating back to maybe 2014 (personal use) and it still works great. It has rubber handles. I think back then that was the only yellow one and then there was a more expensive "military" kaki version. I now need one for elsewhere. I definitely want the rubber handles, but it needs to be light so I'm thinking tactical, but here's mu question: how are the main straps (not the foot straps) adjusted? Do you just press and pull or push like my old one, or does it require a lot of manoeuvring (say like you would do on a rucksack's belt?) I think that would be a lot of money for that! Thanks again.

    • @FDMXfitness
      @FDMXfitness  Před 4 lety

      The straps both adjust pretty similar with a push and pull. The main difference is the material they are using. Seems more thick and probably durable on the pro. But if you are looking for something lighter and easier to transport, then the tactical will definitely do the job. Thanks!

    If you use foam handles, wear gloves and keep them as dry as possible for longevity.
    Is there no plastic pipe inside the foam handle, just foam?

    • @FDMXfitness
      @FDMXfitness  Před rokem +1

      There is a plastic pipe inside. I have torn through plenty of them to find out. I would then put bat tape on them which works for awhile but then falls off

      It may be the manufacturer's strategy to get you to buy the professional model.
      It would be nice to be able to attach a pipe of appropriate size and hardness from above.
      It's hard to disassemble and re-sewing with your favorite handle.

    3:51 you can just buy a decent carabines.
    you need to understand the reason why these cheap imitation can sell their product so cheap is because of materials.
    technically speaking those straps are cheap.. you can have the same strong strap quality like the original TRX as long as you can find a decent manufacturer. the difference will be on those metals parts like the carabiner. so if you gonna buy a cheap imitation make sure to replace the carabiner coz that's where the merchant tries to lessen the price of their product.

    The answer is… none. Get a Recoil S2. It’s more expensive but it’s infinitely easier to adjust, the straps are always the same length, and there is no hardware rubbing against you when doing chest presses or other exercises.
