Always double checking is key, if you hear a noise try to recreate it and the that goes with everything you see or hear before you chalk it up to be paranormal activity.

Finally someone testing the XLS camera by questioning false positives. So many investigators misuse this tech & call everything paranormal, even when it's obviously mapping something like a chair or coat rack. That's why I have so much respect for you guy's 👍
I have only used one once and all sorts of objects set it off, a good amount of readings it gives off are false and just how light is reflecting on an object.
I've probably said this to you guys about fifty times over the years, but THANK YOU again for being so kind and compassionate to the spirits you come across. I cried watching your last session. That poor, poor soul. I hate seeing ghost hunters who treat psychiatric patients like they're all demonic, when their situation a) wasn't their fault, and b) may or may not actually line up with current ideas of mental illness. I wish more people (in general, and ghost hunters specifically) understood that those who actually were mentally ill or disabled didn't deserve barbaric treatment.
For anyone who wants a depiction of what being locked up in a place kind of like this hospital was like, read "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It's a short story, and the woman who wrote it actually was treated this way for having postnatal depression, so it's very accurate. It's a creepy as hell story,
I truly hope that spirit finds peace, love and light one day ❤

I am a born and bred NC gal and I can tell you that NC is slam full of haunted places and paranormal experiences. I am also part Cherokee, from the NC Mountains.
What I have also experienced has occurred in an old abandoned house out in Harris, NC, where I am from and live, that is now so overgrown, it is barely seen. One must carefully claw her way through a bunch of stuff to get in there, which I have, several times, because my ancestors built that house in 1880 and owned that land. Today, I call it ''pleasantly haunted'',,,I hear the voices...and have see full spirits of those who lived there...most likely my kin. However, there may be one aggressive spirit that does not belong there, or belong in my family line, that seems to want to engulf me in fear and anxiety when I go in there, NOBODY ELSE KNOWS ABOUT THIS PLACE BUT ME.

When you went to the basement the first time it said something like "There's two.", when you asked about being chained to the wall.
Later, Dave got those pictures of the two men. Maybe, that was the two, from before.The one in front looked very sad and vulnerable. Maybe, the one in back was more dangerous, but also protective of his friend. Hence, the arm around his shoulder.
As a North Carolinian, I'm happy that you had a good experience in our great state this time!
I've never seen a basement so so clean.. clean as a pin. The owners have really put in a lot of time, effort and money into this place. It's great to see!

Sometime the device gives good readings worth consideration but the majority of the time they aren’t, the device picks up light reflections on items most of the time giving false readings.

Wow guys! This is a goldmine! I don't think I have heard of this place before now and as you talk about the days where people were chained up, I can't help but think on my time spent working in an asylum, of which you may remember. We had medicine pretty much like we do today, even in the 80"s. I can't imagine everyone where I worked chained up like that! How on earth did one man and a nurse of two keep them clean, fed, etc? It had to be a terrifying sight for sure!! It was bad enough in the 80's, and I have stories....

26:36 is another example of how these cameras pick up anomalies, and they largely go ignored because people focus solely on the stick figures the program maps. this also happened on The Paranormal Files latest episode at Indiana State Sanitarium, just seconds after they caught poltergeist style activity on camera. (2:25:41 is the time you want to look on his video, or look for my comment there).
for it to be all black like that leads me to believe its either bending the light or absorbing it. the light that should be hitting it isn't being seen by the sensor, if it was a bug or bat i assume the light would still reflect off it as normal. definitely look out for these while using this camera in the future.

Just my opinion, but I prefer abandonment at the start of the investigation. Dave, I have taken to yelling "I'm leaving" when I leave my job (I work at a church) to let who/whatever know they are free to play. My boss doesn't like this so much but he'll live. And yes, he is a pastor.
lol! I like it at the start as well, but it also makes sense to do during or as it’s wrapping up, because the investigation seems to help spirits get comfortable with and learn how to (maybe) use the equipment. 🤷🏻♀️ just my thoughts. ❤Jil

Ryan and Dave; we have been on a weekend trip…we went to Dayton, Ohio to see the eclipse. It was an amazing mini-vacation, and the eclipse was absolutely epic. Not adding a new device with the assumption and passing the assumption to use that it works but rather a trial and error that you let us in on. So much cooler for us this way.
