I hope someday there will be a documentary about Tom Penny. He came from England to the US like some kind of "British Invasion" reminiscent of the Beatles but for skateboarding. He appeared almost out of nowhere and burst onto the California skate scene only to up end the entire industry like a skate juggernaut. He'd smash every major Cali spot with hammers leaving them virtually non-skateable. And just as fast as he appeared on the scene, he'd disappear to France as if it was a dream... like did this guy really come to the US and do what he just did... and then disappear? What? And you could actually disappear back then because social media wasn't as prevalent as today. The crazy, insane story of the Legendary Tom Penny must be told and shared with future generations.
Not to mention that he was the hottest at the time, and DIDNT CARE. Who cares about fame and women and fortunes. Tom only cares about skating. Life lessons there people, material things are only as important as you make them

@@danielmc8385 I've seen him do backside tail slides and long switch board slides down handrails. It was definitely advanced rail skating for the era. While rail skating wasn't his specialty, he was still advanced enough at rail skating for people to notice.

When I saw Tom skate in person at the skatepark of Tampa in 96 it was magical. His skating and style was mesmerizing to us back then.

It will always be a dream of mine to meet Tom penny and thank him for being a part of skateboarding. When his menikmati part came out( even more so his bonus growing up footage) it made me take a whole new look at skating . Props Tom 🤙👊🔥

Koston was better than Penny when it came to overall skating. Way bigger bag of tricks and actually shredded rails.
@@danielmc8385 everyone has their talent, have you ever seen Koston destroy a half pipe or a bowl like Tom? I bet not... Penny is not and has never been the guy with the biggest bag of tricks, what stands out about his skating is the ease and naturalness that he does it

Your wrong about Tom not having a big bag of tricks. I'm from uk. Liverpool actually. Skated 88 to 04. Skated with Tom many times. In early 90s he was a known amazing mini ramp skater. He could do any trick he wanted, when he was a kid in 91, 92, which is when I first skated with him. He could do the longest runs of genuinely hard tricks. There is footage from 92 out there. Street too. The early to mid 90s were experimental and progressive. A lot of us tried every trick possible. He could do it all. But skating settled by mid 90s, where u dropped a lot of fiddley tricks. Like late flips. Doing too much flipping in or out. No pressure flip stuff or impossible stuff. We could do it, but chose not too. Usually due to trick fashions.
Kelly knowing which shoes Tom was wearing at that time is kinda crazy.

I don't think anyone is that mad over it because it isn't like he couldn't do it he just didn't do it that time or make a point to go back and get it again, if he really wanted I am sure he could have went back and landed it and then we would be watching a my war video haha
