British icons John Whitaker and Geoff Billington put the show into show jumping. In a mock rivalry, they demonstrate how to work with young and more advanced horses, how to teach the horse to adjust his stride, and how to strategize for competitions and jump-offs.
Watch how John progresses from ground poles to a small cross rail and ultimately a grid. You will learn how to help a young horse take off and land in the correct spot as well as jump directly over the center of the fence.
Geoff demonstrates how to teach a horse to shorten his stride. Reversing the exercise will help a horse learn to lengthen his stride.
