Did anyone else hear this at (17:52)? The understory hosts the "forest elephants"? Wouldn't elephants live on the forest floor? Not to mention, there are no elephants indigenous to the Amazon or the South American continent.

I watched a documentary on the dust from Africa to the Amazon that was fascinating. Once it reaches South America its carried in a river in the sky from evaporation from the Amazon (estimated to be 4-6 ft deep of water if collected) & carried all the way to the Andes mountains which feeds the Amazon with its rich nutrients that make thier way back to tha Atlantic & the process repeats itself. They built a tower in the Amazon just to veiw & research the phenomena. Highly recommend watching it!!

Perhaps this is the scariest tropical forest I've ever known. There are many things that I wouldn't believe were real if I didn't see them with my own eyes, like that giant python.

Pythons are from asia. There are no phytons in the amazon forest. The largest snake species there is the sucuri, not related to phytons.

Unfortunately, the world’s most crucial ecosystem is being cut down at such an alarming rate that it could be completely gone in the next 10-15 years. It’s located in an area that has zero regulations in place to protect and preserve it. Even the few efforts in place to try and do this aren’t enough because this region is stricken by severe poverty and no where near enough resources to try and keep up with all the people and companies mowing it down illegally. This timber brings in so much money for these regions and counties that it’s hard to even get the government’s support. Unfortunately, our greed and desperation for money will ultimately throw the entire balance off.
At this point, the only way to get this planet healthy again, would be for a mass extinction event to take place. As soon as we remove everything that filters out greenhouse gases and provides us with breathable air, our planet will become uninhabitable due to temperature and lack of oxygen. Just think about it, within the next 20 years we could actually start seeing the first signs of our planet heading down a path the will eventually wipe out all life on land all because we couldn’t figure out how to not rely on cutting down trees to survive.

Actually if you have plants…you will notice that the seed toward the sun & open area! Thus over yrs. of doing this will actually move from one location to feet from where they originally were planted, even die out of the less desired spot! So wouldn’t you consider that as having the ability to move!? I do! Gotta pay attention to life!
