The Chevrolet Impala (/ɪmˈpælə, -ˈpɑːlə/) is a full-size car that was built by Chevrolet for model years 1958 to 1985, 1994 to 1996, and 2000 to 2020. The Impala was Chevrolet's popular flagship passenger car and was among the better-selling American-made automobiles in the United States.[7][8]
For its debut in 1958, the Impala was distinguished from other models by its symmetrical triple taillights. The Chevrolet Caprice was introduced as a top-line Impala Sport Sedan for model year 1965, later becoming a separate series positioned above the Impala in 1966, which, in turn, remained above the Chevrolet Bel Air and the Chevrolet Biscayne. The Impala continued as Chevrolet's most popular full-sized model through the mid-1980s. Between 1994 and 1996, the Impala was revised as a 5.7-liter V8-powered version of the Chevrolet Caprice Classic sedan.
In 2000, the Impala was reintroduced again as a mainstream front-wheel drive car.[9] In February 2014, the 2014 Impala ranked No. 1 among Affordable Large Cars in U.S. News & World Report's rankings.[10] When the 10th generation of the Impala was introduced for the 2014 model year, the 9th generation was rebadged as the Impala Limited and sold only to fleet customers through 2016. During that time, both versions were sold in the United States and Canada. The 10th-generation Impala was also sold in the Middle East and South Korea.
For 1964, the Impala was restyled to a more rounded, softer look. The signature taillight assembly had an "upside-down U" shaped aluminum trim strip above the taillights, but the individual lights were surrounded by a body-colored panel. The 409 cu in (6.7 L) V8 engine returned as the big-block option, as well as the Carter AFB 2X4-barrel carburetors setup for the 425 bhp (431 PS; 317 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 425 lb⋅ft (576 N⋅m) at 4,200 rpm of torque engines.[24] SS models continued to feature the engine-turned aluminum trim. Rooflines were carried over from 1963 unchanged. Back-up lights were standard.[25]
All full-size 1964 Chevrolet station wagons received small rectangular taillight lenses mounted vertically, one for each side of the car.
The Impala Super Sport became its own series this year instead of an option package.
The 1964 model year is a staple of lowrider culture, and it is commonly mentioned in West Coast hip hop lyrics.
The Super Sport was known as Regular Production Option (RPO) Z03, from 1962 to 1963, and again in 1968. From 1964 through 1967, the Super Sport was a separate model, with its own VIN prefix (for example in 1965-67 cars, 164 was the prefix for a regular Impala with a V8 engine, 166 or 168 were used in 1966-68 for a V8-equipped Impala SS). - Auta a dopravní prostředky
"May I see your license, sir?"
"My license? It's back there on the bumper, man!"
Hey, what's your name sir??... Um . his name is RALF!!!.... I'm splitting my sides ROFL
Earl
Just picked up the '64 and going to build the Cheech & Chong car!👍✌
Am I driving okay? I think we're parked man.
"That looks like a quarter pounder, man!"😂
Here, swallow these 😂
That joint is 100 percent Labrador 😂😂😂😂
@@Merylstreep1949 gets ya high don't it? 🐕 I wonder what great Dane tastes like 😂
The box art is also beautiful. The old L.A. Sixth Street Viaduct in the background has been featured in dozens of movies.
Always like it when you build these beater cars, and Cheech and Chong were hilarious. A nice spin on this model from the pristine lowriders you often see at model shows and in real life, and to me the 1964 Impala is to my mind the best looking of the 1960s Impalas.
Thank you chris for all the work you do
Very nice build. Their first album came out about the time I started high school and I really enjoyed their humor back in the day. Chris, there is a very, very big difference between dingle balls and dingleberries. Don’t really think you would want dingleberries hanging in your car. 😂. I know I definitely would not.
My first car was a '64 Impala SS. It's the only car I wish that I had never sold. Sold it for a '67 Camaro RS so it wasn't all bad.
Did one back in the 90s. Sold it. Wish I kept it
I'm not a 100% sure, but, I think depending on which springs and spindles you use, you can get closer to stock. True, you can build it showroom stock, I believe you can keep it a stock height, and kit bash some other wheels and tires. Cool build
Yooooo I loved Cheech and Chong wooooooooo lowrider
Awww cool
It's the Love Machine
I'd add some cotton smoke fog to the interior 😂😂😂😂❤
Your licence, sir, where is your licence?
It's back there on the bumper, man...
😂
Cheech himself would think this is HIS car. Nice work, Chris. Thanks...
Super choice and build Chris! Dig the details to get a movie car done. I think I'll add the speakers to front grille. Awesome 😎
Cool man I remember when the movie came out. A trip back in time. Dude
Brilliantly done mate👍 love Cheech and Chong
Rollin in my six four .
Thanks for all your video's!!!
Very nice kit. It is a shame you can’t built it stock. Love the engine. Nice job building this one. Very nice work with the detail. Thanks for sharing.
IIRC, in the movie; the driver's side door didn't have a handle, while the passenger side did.
And the drivers door was light blue
Very nice - looks so authentic.
Very good Chris! 👍
😅 The movie is on sale from Prime now!!! Nice
Too bad It don't have the "muff diver" license plate 😂 Oh and Chris not to sound like one of those viewers that correct you but the batteries are actually 12-volt Automotive batteries not that it really matters... Awesome video my friend!
´pretty cool building Chris ✌🏻
wish they included stock wheels and tires in this kit
Im getting my model kit this week i cant wait
Very nice Christopher
Another awesome build video Chris I like the idea of Cheech & Chongs love machine but I'm not really that type of lowrider fan with the juice an of course thanks for the time an effort you put into the videos you do for us
DAVE'S NOT HOME 😂😂 nice work 👍🏻👍🏻
No, man I'm dave. I really am.
Chris, This is great stuff, LOL Cheech and Chong!!!. I have to say after subscribing to your channel, you have been my inspiration to getting back into model building from my younger years. I recently completed and posted vids of building a Smokey and the Bandit Tribute. I built Snowman's truck and trailer along with the '77 Trans Am. I wouldn't have done it without your teaching and techniques!!
Thanks Chris for doing what you do!!
Cheers!
Earl
Cool kit and build!
Just needs some smoke coming out of the windows!
Looks cool 😎 Chris.
I always wanted to build this and the van hope they make a kit for a delibery/taco truck/ice cream van to be able to build it
Ohhhhh yeah, this is the best Chris....GREAT JOB BUD!!!
Great Video,Love my Cheech & Chong Movies,Great call on this model
You are correct. The car was never shown hopping in the film.
Maybe you can talk to your friends in the industry to have this released as a proper license Cheech and Chong item , along with the chevy van from Next Movie
With C&C figures.....one can remain hopeful 😢
Excellent!
Looks great
It needs the scratch in the windshield from Curtis
"Curtis baby ,ain't for real diamonds "😂😂😂
@@jarialshurfield5696 hey man you scratched my window
* trunkful of Alice Bowie 45s sold separately 😂❤
"" SWEET , REALLY SWEET "" , ❤ ,
Cool kit! Just ordered mine today.
You gota do their van next
When they turn it into a lowrider in the movie lol
This was a fun watch. Thank you!
Nice job Chris! Thanks for the review. 😎
Great video Chris keep em coming and I'll keep watching
great build. hoped you would play "lowrider"at the reveal but then you would have probably had to pay "royalties" maybe you could have hummed a few bars
Love it👍👍
Chris, great build like the repair look !!
For the red dingleberries, I used red thread, with Iittle hand rolled thread "balls" glued on.
I used the little sized red glass beads from a crafting store (size 11/0 (maybe 1/2 mm long) ... you get like 10,000 beads per box for a couple, maybe 3 bucks) ... place a few on a piece of thread and then attach that to the top of the window with a carefully placed drop of CA ... used flocking for the interior "shag" carpet look
Very nice bro
Awesome Job love it.
Love it thanks for sharing
"I got something hard but I don't think it'll open the trunk"🤣
Got to fill the interior with cotton to mimic the look of SMOKE😤😮💨
You need ice man figures for that LOL
I did the same to my 1/10 redcat Impala.
Good clean content.
Thought the car was in red primer with a light blue door? Cool build.
You have the steadiest hands
I’ve ever seen wow!
Thanks!
It's a shame that scale sizes dingle berries aren't available. You could have lined the windows with them just to add a little more authenticity to Cheech's car. Still a very nice build!!
Does that glue bond to painted surfaces?
Super glue? Yes but model glue won’t.
The model company should have put a partial drum set in the kit along with a sleeping bag
Not sure what changed on the Facebook page but we can’t technically post on it anymore. I’ll usually tag or mention you in a build post.
I wonder if Skee-lo still wants one of these cars.....
I think we're parked man, LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 nice build Chris
Now, for something completely different...
So, I am finishing up a Foose 65 Chevy Impala, and I am using the Pledge Revive it floor gloss(Future Floor Shine). Everywhere else finishes with a highly glossy shine, almost a wet look to it. But the trunk is still looking pretty dull. The paint was completely dry when I put the 1st coat on. I don't know if it's soaking into the paint or what's going on. Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks in advance for your help.
👍😎
I used to sail around in a boat just like this when I was 17. But mine was a low rider because the suspension was shot.
Hey with all the leftover parts/spare parts from all the model kits do you think you could build an vehicle out of them ? Like the whole thing is just leftover/spare parts
Awesome build. Just curious what do you do with the leftover parts and decals ?
Play some WAR 😁 music......
What about the tassels and all that? That's like 90% of the personality of that car.
MUF DVR
When I’m putting a model together.. should I paint the parts first or put most of everything together before I paint?.
You can see how I do it in the video.
I prefer to assemble as much as I can and then paint.
BUT, you will find the method that works best for you and the style you like to build with.
2:45
Wepa!
they should have made it so you can build it stock
What color did you use
Sir I've been building models for like maybe 15 years or more can you tell me how you put the whole motor and stuff together and then paint it almost impossible
You can see me do it all in this video.
Assembly and painting. Thanks!
35:55 what tape is used?
Far out man
Far out, man.
Is it for sale
cool build as always but pass ill stick with the amt ertle one chassis looks nothing but problems.....i wonder if u can use the body on the amt chassis i dont like two peice chassis booo...
There are going to be a lot of Love Machines built...and don't worry, most of the people who remember the movie can't really remember it🚬
stuff the interior with cotton 🤣
Major disappointment hearing that this kit cannot be built as a factory stock '64 Impala. I've anxiously waited since I heard this kit was coming a couple of months ago, thinking it would have the factory stock option. Now, I won't be purchasing it at all.
Revell, you should never release a production vehicle that cannot be built that way.
Round2 just did the same mistake in their release of the '57 Chrysler 300. I won't be buying that kit now either.
Looks great
