the robot mode looks really skynound-y the backpack makes it look like he has a thicker torso and i can see this being released with a megatron arm if they decide to make a energon universe optimus
I would love a skybound voyager/ leader repack of this guy without the trailer comes with the megatron arm

@@WorthyGibbon I hope they capitalize on Skybound's popularity ASAP. Most of the designs are straight toon so they don't necessarily need new toys, but I really want to see Megatron arm Prime and Lambo Arcee.

this is the most hyped i've been for a transformer in YEARS
The only 2 things so far throwing me off is the cell shading(probably looks better in other photos) and the size, I just can't understand how big he is
That is my only problem with this guy. I have no idea how big he is! Is he voyager or true leader size🤔

Well since er prime was voyager sold as a leader because of the trailer this guy must be leader scaled

Well since studio series and general modern generations tries to produce their figures in scale I’d bet he’s around 7 or 8 inches like most modern Optimus Prime figures.

Looks f***ing awesome, probably the best Optimus prime we've gotten 😮. Can't wait to get it.
He looks pretty good. The core robot looks amazing, and the trailer looks decent, a much richer grey with a full combat deck loadout. I'd love a leader class of him without the trailer in toy colors, full silver stripe, techy details, and those yellow eyes, maybe even with a yellow axe to complement those eyes.
Now we need a Leader Class Gun Megatron, but the barrel should be interchangeable so one is accurate and one’s legal in the United States.
I think they could just do what they did with BBM megatron and just incorporate a hidden gun mode into the toy and tell nobody about it so it would be legal
@@WorthyGibbonThe issue is that the BBM Gun-Mode is much more abstract in terms of its alternate modes. Meanwhile, G1 Megatron is very specifically the Walter P38, not abstract at all.

Yeah, giving him orange caps looks like the only way for a gun mode Megatron to be a thing nowadays. Hopefully they find a way to make the caps removable.
This looks ok. I personally need to see in hand images before I decide. He just looks to small to me, at least in these pictures and his chest windows are too big and almost looks like there are stickers on them which is probably not the case but just bugs me. The cab looks fine but I don't think it matches up to the earthrise or siege one. I could be proven wrong and this could be phenomenal, but right now it doesn't seem that good to me.

You're going to have to sanction me for having the right song playing in my head with that image, the song I have is Dare. LOL
It looks quite impressive. The blast effects, the technical-looking transformation... Sure, the arms look a bit small, and the windows do look a bit too basic, but everything else looks incredible.
I notice that there was no image to do with a Matrix, but no doubt that will be included.
I personally don't have an issue with the backpack. It looks like it is par in course to what is expected in a screen-accurate representation of Optimus Prime.
i'm certainly looking forward to try to purchase this one.
I need money now because I need this thing in my collection. This is the best Prime officially ever made. MP44 fans eat your heart out. What's the price on this thing. I need to save for it. I'm sure this is going to be one of, if not my favorite figure. It should be clear I love Optimus, my current favorite Optimus is ss38.

Now that we have the ss86 Optimus prime, the evolution of the G1 Optimus prime is complete.
First, the old G1 Optimus prime.
Then the missing link Optimus prime.
Then earth rise Optimus prime.
And now ss86 Optimus prime.
No wheels on the body and legs in the robot mode, cartoon and 86 movie accurate.
Gonna need a super heavy discount before I even consider picking this one up.
Commander price point is sheer insanity.
86 Ultra Magnus has become double in price. So good luck

This looks great but I feel this guy isn't joining my collection till I see his size and the future SS86 Megatron size.
Like I don't want this prime if he's towering over megs I feel Megatron should always be bigger or the same size.

I have no doubt this will be great. But still annoying that they’re pulling a kingdom rodimus again and charging us commander price when this is leader plus at best. Including a plastic box does not make this worth the asking price.

Hm. Not sure to go with this or Magic Square's Light of Freedom and Light of Peace for my G1 Optimus fix. Either way, this looks tied with those two as the best representation of Prime's most famous design (barring that one).

Miniaturised mp44, I’m not complaining
I don’t know if it’s just me, but something about the plastic/ sculpt looks cheap, I think it’s the red they chose, I think it should have been a bit darker or a bit more saturated
Looks good, but not $90 good (same with Hot Rod). No way this will shelfwarm so I will probably get it and sell off the trailer and accessories
I doubt this thing will even get on shelves in stores in the first place. The only thing that shows up on shelves are the same 2 or 3 legacy deluxes a few core classes and a ton of Earthspark/Cyberverse crap

If it's fun to handle and transform then im getting it (keep in mind I find deformation space crimson wings' conversion very fun to the point that i can transform him back and forth ad nauseam while eating with youtube)
Sadly he has rubber tires, same that eat paint and melt plastic like on Beachcomber and Sandstorm.
Honestly it looks fine.
I don't think it looks that bad, and I can easily see upgrade kits in the near future for this guy.
Wish he at least had better articulation for those elbows, though. A Commander Class figure should at least have above 90 degree elbows, considering Siege Prime had elbows above 90 degrees of bend.

Not happy comparing it to the first leak we saw. It looks like he had a donut diet. These is not a common figure it's THE FIGURE...have to do the best you can, not something like these. Have to wait for the final reveal. Blasters suppose to be black, these one looks grayish.
The new optimus looks a lot better. And this is coming from the guy that has a earthrise optimus!
Looks good and all... but this is Hasbro. This thing will be expensive. And if the idea is to get a really good CHUG scale MP-ish Optimus? I'd suggest to anyone to rather get something like KBB MP-10 V. It will be cheaper and better quality then this thing. But thats just me 🤷♂
Still meaning to get one of those. Like Im pretty good with my ER prime, and on this one, the trailer is like a few inches bigger than the ER one, but of course I am really never going display it with the trailer.
Brighter colors, different smoke stacks I dig, but do I dig it for how much this thing is likely going to cost....that I dunno.
He is going to be a commander, and thus the commander price point. The only difference would be Hasbro randomly deciding to increase the price of one (don't Jinx it).

Look I get it’s the 40th anniversary so Hasbro is gonna circle jerk to G1 even harder. It’s just mind numbing that commander class finally gets introduced into Studio Series and the first two SS commander figures are G1 characters that have gotten a bunch of figures out the wazoo just the past few years alone. Like yeah it looks cool but come on, y’all.
