A breastfed baby should be paced fed with the bottle so that the baby doesn't develop a "flow preference" and then begin to reject the breast. This video shows exactly how to pace bottle feed an infant in real-time.
Figures, as soon as I get rid of all my narrow bottles and purchase a whole bunch of wide mouth bottles I find a video that says my narrow bottles were better. 😂😂
Did not work for us.. we realised with half full nipple baby ends up gulping only more air which causes more gas in stomach and ends up crying and fussing more.. did this change and had 2 sleepless nights.. next day came back to normal and 🤞🤞🤞all ok..
Due to multiple circumstances beyond our control, my five week old son is exclusively bottle fed. He was spitting up a ton and having coughing fits, often more than one in a feeding! I tried a slower flow nipple which helped but didn’t eliminate the problem. Since starting paces feeding, he spits up so much less and only has issues swallowing if I stop paying attention! Thank you so much for this video. You’ve made my first-time-mom life a little easier :)
its so cruel. its just a passive feeding, the baby cant control anything. With breastfeeding babys can control every suck and flow rates etc. its an active feeding controled by the baby. Bottles are a cruel instrument who lead to several health problems as mouth breathiness. or middle ear infection, the children learn to swallow incorrectly because the tongue position is incorrect. When breastfeeding, the tongue lies outside the mouth. The tip of the tongue belongs at the top of the hard palate, the bottleteat presses the tongue backwards and downwards. The ear trumpet can no longer be ventilated due to this incorrect swallowing process, and babies often develop middle ear infections
I just saw this video because I made the mistake of feeding incorrectly and now my 2.5 month son is rejecting the breast :-( how can I get him back to latch and continue nursing? I would be devastated if our breastfeeding journey ends
Great information ! I was so confused as to if I could use the tall nipple vs the wide one to include in my breast feeding so daddy can be apart of feeding time. Now I feel comfortable using both not worrying if once my baby gets the feel of the tall nipple she will reject my breast ... thank you so much !!!
i dont understand how you are allowing the baby to suck air... that defeats the purpose of using the dr brown bottle and it makes my baby's gass worse...???
Yeah no thanks, I prefer my baby to not be full of wind.
Yea sure, “drop the bottle to stop the flow”. Funny. I do that to my daughter when she is hungry at 3am and I’ll probably get punched in the face.
So what’s the point of using a anti colic Dr Browns bottle if you’re just going to lean the bottle back and introduce air to the feeding?
Just been a dad for almost 2 weeks and my daughter was choking on milk so much and found this channel. Thanks 😊 very informative

This looks like baby is sucking air. Will he not be full of air bubbles and uncomfortable?
Stacy - as an IBCLC, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shared this video with clients. Hundreds, for sure! Thank you for making the video. 😊
Thank you for the video my lo is presently striking because of flow preference. It's nice to see what I can improve on!
So informative, easy to understand and see! Thank you so much!
How do you do this if baby’s top lip doesn’t flange out?

I always heard to use a wide neck bottle for breastfed babies, so the narrow neck nipples are what's recommended now?
Love this video!
Great video, great info!
I dont want to breastfeed I want to bottle feed this is very educational and helpful. Thank you
