Ocean/Frame Drum Techniques and Rhythms with Dave Holland

Guest instructor, Dave Holland, shares a couple Ocean drums and a few Arab rhythms you can play using the Dum, Pah, and Chick sounds. Dave shows you how to play the Dum (bass), Pah (Slap), and Chick (edge strike) sounds and then combine them into rhythms such as Malfuf and Maqsoum.

I have an ocean drum I should be using more. I saw this come up just before leaving for work. I will have to check this out more tomorrow when I have time. I use middle eastern drumstrokes myself. I'm curious to see what is used in this video.
