I really enjoyed her movie's as a kid and introduced my daughter's to her with "move over darling" They've been hooked on her since... Thanks Sam and ktla for the wonderful tribute to her memory.
I truly weep at the passing of Doris Day, Doris was a stunningly beautiful lady, a wonderful actress who had a soft magical voice whether she spoke or sang. She was a sincere, caring animal activist who cared for all animals great and small. Doris Day will be greatly missed by admirers all over the world, she now rests in the arms of Jesus.
It's called acting for a reason. They are told when and where and how to do what the director wants them to do. It is not their doing or their words or songs. That is why they all have "directors and writers and producers and editors and camera men and the entire crews to make successful movies or whatever. They never do it on their own or all their own ideas.
I truly loved this woman she was a kind spirit and beautiful soul after all my mother love her so much she name me after her, and I can see why.. Rest in peace beutifull soul Doris Day
Why sad? I'm glad for her. She was senile for years. How senile? Several years ago, I heard an interview with her, possibly by Jonathan Schwartz, where the interviewer had to remind her that she'd been born in 1922. For years, she'd thought she was born in 1924.
Don't know whether to like this post or dislike it !!!!!.....A sad sad day ...60 years gone by , Doris is among'st one of my favorite singers /actors ....Her song ...''Enjoy yourself its later than you think ''...taught me many a lesson in life ...as did ''Key sera sera '' !!! .. & many others ....RIP Doris Day ....will always remember you .
I suppose many of us had our own "Secret Love" and perhaps at one time or another we took our own "Sentimental Journey". Thanks for the music, the films and your commitment to animals. What a fulfilling life. Rest well.
R.I.P. Doris Day, you will always be a star and this song that my mother sang to her children, will always be my favourite. Thank you Doris Day, from Brazil
Doris Day was always mine and my niece's favorite singer and hollowood actress. I always loved the beautiful matching clothes she had worned in her movies. She will always be missed.RIPMs. Day
A huge part of my childhood youth and growing up years were spent with Doris Day listening to her records or watching her on the big screen. So much of me died with her passing away. She was truly exceptional. RIP Ms. Day.
Amazing legend. I'm still reeling at this loss although she socked it her entire career despite her personal hardships. She hated "Que Serra, Serra", but came to love it, as it defined her in ways she never realized. If you haven't given yourself a chance to listen to early, non-popular recordings, please do.
I can't believed it has been over a year and a half since she have left us, and I still miss her dearly. no other singer/actress will ever have the affect that Doris Day have on me: her smile, class, and dazzling personality. Continue to RIP.
I can't believed that it has been over three years since she've passed away. I was accustomed to her being around but I had hoped too much. It was totally unexpected and I really wasn't prepared to see her go. But I have to remind myself that it isn't goodbye but so long for now till we meet again. May you continue to RIP.
I wish I could have met her she seemed like a real genuine down to earth person caring kind and a wonderful soul. A really beautiful lady with honey blonde hair and bright blue eyes I enjoyed her movies and music, one of a kind she would still be alive if not for that pneumonia so sad Doris God bless and may you forever know peace and happiness.
Well, I have the privilege to serve her at The Plaza Hotel in New York in 1976. I worked there for 30 years as a R/Service waiter; she was so nice when I asked her for a picture, next day she gave it to me, by that time she retired from movies. I left her picture in my car, this car was stolen....and gone with car....I was so sad for the lost picture the car was replaceable the picture…not. I was sad for months my wife, feel the same pain….how-ever I had her in my mind and in my heart and the moment that I talk to her so briefly.
That was truly special you met her and you had the opportunity to get her picture sorry for the bad experience but I know that moment you will remain forever touched by her. Her smile and her demeanor could brighten anyone's day.

Buen viaja y sigue cantando por el firmamento ¡¡¡Que será será!!! Gracias por darnos tan buenos momentos, hasta que nos en contaremos por el cielo 🐕🐩🐕🐩🌹🌹
I ve played her GR8ist album t death. Luved her in TEACHERS PET. can't remember the film name (wid J. Garner), but, boy. Was it funny. As was the few, she did wid BIG ROCK.
My mother took my sister and me to the May Company store in Downtown Los Angeles in 1949-50 to see Doris Day sing some of her songs with a band in the Record Department. There were about a hundred people there and I could not see her. I got on my hands and knees and wormed my way into the front row. I was there for about 15 minutes and started to fear I lost my mom and she would be worried. I started to cry and Doris stopped her performance and asked me to come to her. I did and she lifted me up in her arms, dried my tears and asked why I was crying. I said I lost my Mom. She looked out into the audience and asked where she was. My Mom in the back row waved her had and I saw her and felt better. Doris made me laugh and I said to her she was very pretty. Everyone laughed. She had full makeup, diamond jewelry, and fantastic Blond hairdo that glowed in the stage lights. She gave me a big kiss and hug and then went with me over to where she had a personal photo of her. She signed the photo: "To Richard with all my Love Doris Day". I still have that photo. Bless that amazing talent and Lady.
That is amazing I bet that interaction with the great Doris had a real lasting impression on you. I can imagine her doing that for someone she was a beautiful person inside and out and it showed for her love of animals as well. Wish I was fortunate enough to have met her as well.
From another era: when leading women did not behave as sexy objects and avoiding all sexual references ( I guess it was easy for her acting with Rock Hudson. Did she know?)
Debbie reynolds gone i think doris is the last remaining golden girl of the golden era.of hollywood.to bad this generation dont know her.but for us kids born in the 1950s it was a treat to be out of school on the week ends on a ssturdsy night eating poocorn wstching a doris day movie with rock hudson or james garnet or elvis Presley movies this was the bedt rea of america people then didnt have alot of money then.but our fantady was better then than people who have alot of material posseions now with lonley empty souls.
