    I have a suspiction that Sin is gonna make an appearance in Stalker 2, or something similar to their concept.
    The Leon-looking man they showed in the trailers seems to have a cultist-like reverence for the Zone and I think they're setting him up as the villain
    And also because Monolith is pretty much gone, while Zone probably still could use another villain faction.

    UNISG would be fascinating. I know there's not a lot of canon material about them but I find playing as them in Anomaly really fun, like a Merc hard-mode due to the fact that Mercs are friendly but otherwise I must avoid all human contact in the zone. I like the secretive nature of their work and potential political implications for a western-influenced science faction. Shame they're not allied with CS, as a faction thats only friendly with Merc and Clear Sky would be very fun to play in Anomaly as well.

    I like the concept of Sin from Legend Returns mod. Horrifying stalkers, at war with all faction (including Monolith), but mutants are neutral to them. Also they utilize power of artifacts and anomalies to - for example - enhance their weapons, such as pistol changed by chemical anomaly or Gauss powered by Gravi-batteries instead of Flash ones. And they're cannibals.

    I'm glad you're covering cut content. Many people on stalker reddit don't view it as canon and are under the impression that factions like Sin, UNISG, SSS, Strangers are mod/community made when in reality it was supposed to be part of the games as far back as SoC, some even are implied to be in the games we just don't directly interact with them as their agendas don't cross our paths as the protagonist. I'm extremely happy Anomaly decided to include most of the cut content and made STALKER what devs originally invisioned it to be if it wasn't for low resources and bad management.

    I really like the Lost Alpha version of Sin. With once-human mutants like snorks, burers, and controllers roaming the Zone, it makes sense that some test subjects kept most of their humanity and that they would want to expose the horrors they witnessed. I could imagine Sin hanging out in areas of high radiation or psy emmissions that normal stalkers wouldn't venture to due to a resistance they developed from the experiments performed on them.

    • @Dudedontdodrugs
      @Dudedontdodrugs Před rokem +3

      Me too! Although I knew Sin from Anomaly, I feel that Lost Alpha’s Sin is way cooler as the Monolith already provided the brainwashed zealots atmosphere to the Zone. The Sin in Lost Alpha really hits the sorrow and tragical aspect of the game. The Anomaly Sin is cool in it’s own way but lacks the depth and that unique Slavic sadness of being a major faction around Zone.

    I like Lost Alpha's version of Sin much more than Anomaly's version. I find it more interesting to have a faction full of hateful stalkers who roam the Zone at night searching for scientific documents so that they could show the world what went on in Chernobyl. Rather than having another faction that is basically Monolith, believing that the Zone is a divine gift and wanting to use it to kill anything they meet.

    I'll say that, when in my warfare playthrough of Anomaly, I was happy to see Sinners as oppose to Monolithians simply because there equipment was typically sh-t and they where few in numbers. Once, when attacking Rostok, A Sin "Squad" reinforced the Monolith. One. Singular. Sinner. I haven't played Lost Alpha or Oblivion Lost yet but I wonder if they'll be just as "threatening" as they where in Anomaly.

      Don't know about vanilla anomaly, but in GAMMA they're dangerous as hell. They only spawn north of Army Warehouses, they usually have decent gear and they all have artifacts that give them stupid amounts of ballistic resistance. You have to magdump just to kill one of them, which sucks because they always come in squads of 3.

  • @UnknownOps
    @UnknownOps Před 2 lety +3

    I feel like SIN should have a splinter faction from the other, the more neutral ones being hunted down either by Mercenaries, the military, or Duty, and the extreme ones being the bloodthirsty of the bunch, maybe a civil war or schism happened in their group which caused them to fracture and thus two versions of SIN exist, maybe several of them deserted their own and made a separate faction radically different from the other despite having almost the same uniform, point of origin and weaponry.

    I hope SIN is in Stalker 2, and i hope they go with a more nuanced approach:
    Something like, SIN is essentially just a hyper-secretive version of Loners, and exclusively made up of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S. who were experimented on by the The Group, or were once Brainwashed Monolithians who somehow escaped their influence. They stay in the Zone because they feel so disconnected from their fellow man and so destroyed/consumed by the Zone that the only thought worse than living out the rest of their days within it, would be trying to reacclimate to the regular, normal, outside world and it's day-to-day routines. They aren't evil, they aren't boogeymen, they're not cannibals, nor are they a Satanic Cult; They're simply men who have lost absolutely everything of themselves to the Zone, to the Group, and to the C-Consciousness, and now who are very deliberately utilizing their " _infamous boogey-man status_ " to just get everyone else in the zone to leave them alone. While in reality they spend their time and effort just trying to find some semblance of a 'normal, happy life' within the zone.
    Y'know what i mean, like does that sound like a cool idea to anyone else? Or am i just dreamin' here?
    Like, they're just a group of, frankly _incredibly traumatized_ guys, who are all just trying to stay to themselves and help each other out. To keep all that remains of them Alive, and then get them Surviving, and the last step, living, hopefully peacefully. All the while just trying trying to help as many of their fallen brethren to get back up and keep pushing through. They only except new members if it's clear they have some deep seeded trauma from being in the zone too long, and they take in these new members and teach them how to be able to look at themselves in the mirror again without hating what they see. Y'know what i mean?
    TL:DR; - SIN Is just a Mental and Emotional support group for people who have been so utterly _OBLITERATED_ by The Zone, The Group, & the C-Consciousness, who use their outward persona of "Evil Cannibal Psychos that live in Satanic Torture Dungeons is all just a _FRONT_ put up by SIN.

    When I was in the Zone, I once heard a ..strange story. It is about a stalker who went into the Great Swamps to see if the legends about Sin were true. Just as he went there, he never came back. The strange part of the story is, a day after his disappearance, that same stalker was found dead by a Duty patrol squad in close proximity of Jupiter, with cut wounds and burned marks all over his body. No idea how he died, or how he traveled such a great distance in less than a day, but the lesson is clear - stay away from that group.

    Hmmmh, Sin could also be like an occoult Orthodox sect operating within the zone, that would explain why some of it' founders were imprisoned by the Soviet Government (their religious affiliation), I would love to see them get a theme like this in a mod or a new game, where they might even try converting and recruiting people to their cause. Their name could come from seeing the world as engulfed by sins from which the Zone could cleanse it as a tool of the divine. However, they should probably be oft-hostile neutral to Monolith, since as a Radical Orthodox sect, Monolith would be heretics and heathens defying God. I say neutral because they might also see Monolith as simply misguided who are actually worshipping God, just call Him "Wish Granter" instead of Deus and since they revene this agent of the Devine that is the Zone, their interests might sometime be seen as alligned. This would make Sin kind of an unpredictable and more interesting faction in my opinion.

    While Monolith is/was defensive in protecting the center of the Zone, SIN is aggressive wanting the planet to become the Zone.
    It’d also make sense if SIN managed to ally/recruit Monolith, being a religious cult, taking the place of C-Consciousness & preaching to the lost surviving Monolith who were waiting for C-Consciousness “Monolith” to return to them, & instead getting an alternative, perhaps seeing SIN members as prophets.

    Nice analysis of Sin, always wondered others opinions on them as they tend to be mysterious (since they are cut content)

    Algo esta claro, si bien no llegaron a estar en stalker, claramente los stalkers hablan sobre una leyenda urbana sobre estos, la mas clara referencia es sobre el chiste que pueden hacer algunos stalkers hablando sobre un dark stalker

    I have always thought Monolith is like the Russian army
    And Sin is like the DPR and LPR ... lmao

    ngl, the anomaly version of sin is a very boring monolith reskin. the concept of ex test subjects from X-labs trying to prove to the world the unethical experiments done on them is pretty interesting compared to the generic "savage religious death cult wants to see the world burn" idea that we've seen countless times in fiction.

    Man I remember playing Stalker Anomaly and my first encounter with sin, I saw a lone stalker roaming the bloodsucker village in the army warehouse area and when I went up closer to investigate who this person was only for him to turn around a corner of a house and well he just disappeared when I got around that corner, by the looks of him from behind he looked like a bandit… but something was just off an the character. Why was he alone and if he was a bandit then what’s he doing in the blood sucker village by himself and the vibe of this character made me feel as if I was in a dangerous area like the radar, an emersion then came up I quickly ran into a house and out of nowhere the same character suddenly appeared behind me a second later firing at me, I quickly then ran into a different room and fired back killing him when he went after me. When inspecting the body I he was everything you said that described a sin member and when I saw the sin symbol that emblem just stuck with me.
