- Sylvester was amazing to work with ...really talented, a pro in every sense of the word! Wow....As Cherrill says "In time they will be regarded as nostalgic reflections of the disco era" ...and as we now know they are!
- Hudba
Grace Jones and Sylvester are not "nostalgic reflections" anymore. THEY ARE LEGENDS AND PIONEERS!
You are absolutely 100% correct!! 👍
No lies told here!
Mkultra víctims too, from music industry....
do not you get a feeling of nostalgia when you reflect on the music of Sylvester and Grace Jones?
Yes u said it
Sylvester died way too young . Talent never dies he lives through his fantastic music. RIP.
As long as we remember him he lives on❤️
I discovered Sylvester james watching unsung, which is one of the best episodes...I love his voice. This performance says it all..
Yesss😢😢😢😢
Ladies and Gentlemen , welcome to Analog. That was live vocals without any falsetto or cracks in the delivery. No auto tune. Perfection.
No falsetto in disco. That’s for sure.
his is singing in falsetto a technique this used today.. he had a fantastic voice and technique.if you had a lousy voice you couldn't have a carer during analog, no digital auto-tune to correct your pitch..Thanks to auto=tunes there ar people who couldn't carry a tune in a gallon bucket have careers; all packaging no content, I won't name names,,
@@deborahlpollitt9463 go ahead name names 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
I saw Sylvester twice….once when he performed on a float at the Pride Parade and the second time at the Castro Street Fair where the crowd chanted his name until he came to his apartment window when he lived above the Gilded Age antique shop….that was his last public appearance until he passed away…..REST IN PEACE DEAR HEART & THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES !
Thank you so much for sharing !
The weather girls as backup. They all had great voices. Sylvester was a great talent.
Over 40 years later, his music still makes me feel great . Disco at it's best. RIP One of the best!
Jackie Jones hi Jackie... yes the sound is timeless and classic!
The first time I heard Sylvester, I was literally floored! What a voice, and then I was fortunate enough to see him live. No auto tune, nothing fake about his performance, just pure voice.
Sylvester-so beautiful and so talented! As are Martha and Azora. May Sylvester and Azora rest in peace and Martha live a long life! ❤
They could all sang, OMG! They could sing anybody under the table! The harmonies, especially at the end!
Sylvester deserves a biopic. What an enormous talent. Beautiful in every way ❤
The Show Unsung has a great documentary on him.
@@ginohernandez3770 Yes, I've seen it. Was great, but I'd love to see a motion picture about his life. That would be epic 😉

Little Tut that’s The Weather Girls. They got their start as backup singers for Sylvester they were known as Two Tons of Fun.
He had one of the most powerful falsettos you ever heard. So talented.RIP, Sylvester.
When I lived in San Francisco in the ‘70s, Sylvester was my across-the-street neighbor. Some mornings he would come out onto his balcony and sing, just to wake up the neighborhood. You go, girl!
I love that!!!❤️

Way before his time!! All of them!! Love love them!! Magnificent!!!
Marvin Gaye loved Sylvester's music. And they shared the same producer Harvey Fuqua.
A lot of celebrities loved his music. He was one of Joan Rivers favorite singers
Didn’t know that!!!
Didn’t Sylvester sing background on “Who’s Zoomin Who” by Aretha Franklin?
@@tjbradford11 I would love to know and will have to look this up! I am sure the Queen loved him. She loved Donna Summer!

ONDA DISCO.
CLASSIC FOREVER.

They Can SING. Even as a Youth, I was Intrigued with Sylvester. Ironic if he still lived Now, He'd Probably be Worth a Half a Billion, the Way he Kicked open Doors where Artists can Express themselves regardless of Gender. Pioneers.
I saw Sylvester perform at a club in Dallas in 1984, he was really something.
Simon 5005,Blessed to see the Amazing SYLVESTER in Denver at a club called Tracks and again in Philadelphia at the Bourse Building here in Philadelphia, Pa. He made me feel MIGHTY REAL! Rest in Peace SYLVESTER June 2019
I am in tears I wish this wasn't the years that I was a toddler and I could actually enjoy this the way that I do right now...
Sylvester was one of the best in the disco dance. So much energy
OMgosh! I've never seen this video before....
Brilliant man... brilliant ladies... thanks for posting.
Neither hsve I . A good one . Thanks for the upload .
U shouldve seen him at studio 54 back in the day
@@ponder4881 I know he turned it out back in the day at Studio 54!
He was everything Sylvester was ahead of his time. Such a talented and courageous man , I pray that he rests in peace.🖤🖤🌈🙏
I like the way the intro pays respect to the iconic artists of the 50's and affords Disco artists the same importance and respect by comparing them and taking them equally seriously - that is something that very, very rarely happened! Disco rarely comes across well on TV - you need the volume and atmosphere to bring out the real dynamism of it's natural setting - the club. This trio were incredible live. I saw them onstage in concert in London 1979 and the version they did of Dance (Disco Heat) with the extended vocal interplay on the breakdown parts was a life changer for me, a spiritual experience. Where is the show actually from? The ladies are wearing the outfits they wear on their own Two Tons O' Fun album.
The way that you described the music and all of the nuances…beautiful!
RIP Sylvester greatly missed 🙏🙏🙏
He was verrrrry pretty
What a performance and it shows that music was REAL long time ago and really made you feel something.
Mr. Sylvester James was truly one of a kind / One In A Million ... I saw him & his group LIVE in the late 1970's- what a fricking amazing show : Two Tons o'Fun , the band ( with if I recall correctly the incomparable Patrick Cowley on keyboards plus at least 6 other musicians. With real Dry Ice disco fog... They tore it up !!!
Amen! that fog, like I'd died and gone to dance heaven
Cant believe I have never seen this before ......Martha Sent me 2 Autographed Pics . Sylvester is my HERO................!!
He was one of the greatest performers of all time. I truly miss him, I grew up in the 80s on his music that my mom played and she loved him as well. I hope that he has found peace 🙏🏾
Note that they are singing LIVE. That is a testament and mark of a true singer.
I saw him perform at The Troc in San Francisco---AMAZING!
I love this look the best. Exquisite! I wish I had seen him live in concert. He passed away too young...:-(
"You have Sylvester!..
You dont need me."
( David Bowie)
Wow what a beautiful voice
We miss you Syvester...what a talented artist!!!
I love the smooth transition between "Dance Disco Heat" & "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real"!!!
Yes that was so smooth...like butter going on hot bread!
At least all three could sing. Respect.☺️
I danced this music when I was 15 years old...it was very nice!!!

Watched every week. Loved the Raes. Saw them in Toronto airport back in early 80’s. I was freaking out. I wanted an autograph on my ticket. My sister physically stopped me from walking over. Saying you’ll embarrass yourself. I regret to this day… not ignoring her advice!!! LOL Que sa ra sa ra!!!
Wow this brings back memories of the good old days when I live in new jersey

He definitely had some church in his singing. 😀

the SOUND OF THE 3 OF THEM....just BLASTING OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS...AND IT WAS SO EFFORTLESS>>DAMN>>>
Sylvester was the greatest singer, He had a voice that made you rock, He was a singer and dancer, SoSo much talent, The queen of the dance floor💐💐🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️
GREAT ARTIST .....
I will never stop missing Sylvester. He was a music genius. I kept playing the end over and over just so I could see how happy he was. Just imagine if he was on the music scene now. He'd clean up.
What a strange caveat!
Wonderful to see these 3 singers LIVE!
Así es queremos ver una película biográfica de este maravilloso ser con un talento fuera de este mundo, único, hermoso.
The sound is rich asf, absolutely impeccable, three singers sounding like a mass choir......only Sylvester
This was disco music with a definite gospel music vibe.! 🙌
Saw him in concert….really a great talent....should be here today!!!
Cherrill, girl where did you ever find this GEM!! OMG!!! Priceless in every sense of the world! This was the way it was back in the day!! I miss it sooo much, Thanks for posting.

He is a super star. After so many years of his passing, the world still speaks, and still, his music is still being played. Thank you for the music. I remember seeing him live at backstreet some thirty years ago
He left us way too soon❤️
ohhh my God! I love Sylvester! We miss you!
im gonna download this and edit out that dreadful 1 minute of tired lame chatter at the beginning - Syl and 2 Ton BLEW! LOVED IT! So sad this level of raw talent is non existent now. RIP Sylvester and Izora.
Walker Pantera I was thinking the same thing!
Walyer pantera whos izora!!!?
Izora was the other backup singer 👩🎤 to our right. Martha Wash was the other on the right behind Sylvester 👍🏼Both dynamic singers.
Wow, I forgot Izora passed away 😮
On September 16, 2004, Izora Armstead died of heart failure at age 62. She was know as part of the group “The Weather Girls” and also “Two Tons of Fun” and I think in her latter years she sung live background vocals for Sylvester. Both were great talents and such a great loss!
@@TheLeoLitCentral Thanks for that info
