1. Don't give yourself boundaries
In 1995, he landed his first major role on a series called Bramwell.
2. Do what you love
He landed a starring role on the 2002 HBO drama The Wire.
3. Reinvent yourself
He won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Series for his role on the Luther.
4. #Believe
He has appeared in films such as American Gangster, Thor, Prometheus, Pacific Rim.
5. Be a student of the game
He portrayed Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
6. Play your instrument
In addition to his acting work, he is a DJ under the moniker DJ Big Driis.
7. Imagine success
In 2006, he recorded the four-song EP Big Man for Hevlar Records.
8. Inspire others
In 2015, he opened for Madonna during her Rebel Heart Tour in Berlin.
9. Trust your instincts
His portrayal of Mandela earned him a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.

He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to drama.

The rule that meant the most to me was "Inspire Others". In order to inspire someone else, I have to be a better me....and by being a better me, I may inspire someone else to be a better 'them". Very powerful.

I LOVE when he said that he chooses parts based on what feels authentic vs money. Money CAN BE the root of all even. He stated, he has been poor most of his life, so that explains why he is so humble and it will continue to keep him humble. What God gives us, he can snatch it away quickly so remaining humble is key. Also he is right, loose the boundaries!!! If God placed the desire in your heart then you can achieve it BUT keep God first! He wants to be included, he leads and we follow and faith without works is dead so do YOUR part as well because it will not just drop in your lap! We ALL have a God-given gift so tapp into it and it will surely bring you happiness and peace! The sky is not the limit!!
