I just want to say this dude is inspiring, I had a similar accident 9 years ago and it was about life changing, I relate to a lot of what he had experience and seeing how my dude is thriving and doing big things is giving me hope.

i love how this is such a serious story, but not just the boys but TJ has such a positive outlook on his life that he himself are laughing and cracking jokes at the things that they were happening. definitely a good way to lighten up the mood in the room!

When TJ said he’s was being himself, it got to my core so deep, I cried from joy and appreciation of his journey and contribution. May he continue to succeed in Al his endeavors. 💚

Hearing his story is hopeful. My father recently had a spinal injury C3-C6 and is paralyzed just like TJ. ❤
Man, I’m a nurse on a neurosurgical unit so we deal with brain and spine (lots of motor vehicle accidents), so I see patients right before and after their surgeries and I don’t get to see them recover like this. Our PT/OT primarily sees patients just to evaluate them and recommend where they’d be safest after the hospital. I’m happy and excited that TJ was able to make such a significant recovery!!!

I’m glad they didn’t tell him what was happening. I think that TJ not knowing in the moment how severe his condition was, may have helped him. Bc he remained calm & “normal”. SHEESH!🥺🤯😓 Wow TJ is amazing. Purpose.
I can't imagine what he went through. So much props for his progress. I guess I ate something that contained taenia solium (stay away from pork) and the surgery to get it removed left me in a hard reset mode throughout my body. I had to relearn everything basically. I cannot compare to TJ but it was tough. It got me when he mentioned he was glad it was not traumatic with his Neurology. Having to relearn everything was tough. I know my walking is not steady and I currently have bell's palsy and diplopia. I am just hoping that at least my diplopia gets fixed, I feel that is the only thing holding me back. P.s. a catheter hurts when it is being placed. Congrats to TJ and hoping the best for those who are going through something similar. Also hoping the best for Taika and Bart's family. I don’t know if my percentage of having a seizure has gone down. I was told that I am prone to seizures so for that I am taking KEPPRA and so far no seizures. I think I fainted in the hospital when I was recovering but no one is sure about it. This episode was special to me. Thank you guys and hoping the best for those going through something similar.

Great video shedding light on a series situation/ diagnosis and being a member of the Occupational Therapy world . As someone who is heading to work as an OT and watching this video . Nice that he and Ryan talked as well, about Ryan's feelings of guilt about the situation leading up to the crash. Glad TJ recovered better than the doctors first predicted that he would.

I remember this if I’m not mistaken TJ went to Montebello High School he came to the school few times after he got hurt. He always had such a great attitude even when he was in a wheelchair.

I think fatigue is, in a morbidt and dark way, a blessing when the body is slowly shutting down. ‘Cause you just wanna go to sleep.
It feels like the.. you know when someone is keeping you up, and you’re just endlessly tired and just wanna close your eyes “just for a while”.
When I hit dark times in my life, I somehow always get frustrated and bitter over that I didn’t get to just die in that state. ‘Cause that was such a peacefull feeling..
