- This video discusses the stress strain curve as well as the 4 stages that materials go through while under stress. Some of the topics that are touched on are:
Modulus of elasticity
Elastic limit
Yielding
Strain hardening
Necking (Failure)

Needed an emergency review of stress and strain and accidentally landed on this gem of a video. will definitely watch the rest. Thank you sir. Really appreciate your work!!
Thanks for watching! That is why I do this!
I love this man. He does an extremely good job of explaining this stuff. My professor explains this stuff way too fast for me to make sense of it; I also have troubles with books in terms of making sense of some of this stuff and memorizing it. These episodes are great for reinforcing this stuff as well as helping it to make sense.
That's awesome! I'm glad that these are helpful.
Very well organised videos with great explanations. You’re my Patrickjmt of materials. Thank you x
LOL! Thanks for watching!
Simply awesome. Got this welder through another metallurgy assignment!
You have saved me. Thank you sir!
Thank you Sir, for your videos.
Love u sir ,love ur explanation
Keep on doing sir plz
Awesome explanation 👏
Thank you mr professor .
💜💜
Anything else that you need :-)
Thank you sir
Thanks for watching!
So when calling out a "Strength" of a material, it is indeed based on the Eleastic Limit? Rebar that is labeled Fy=60ksi is based on the elastic limit of the stress-strain curve? Or is the Yielding point what officially dictates the Fy=60ksi?
In design, you typically are speaking within a materials elastic limit, meaning, this is the limit where the material can fully recover from deformation. Now, materials also have an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) which is the strongest the material will ever be, however, the material will never go back to its original dimensions.
Very helpful
Ti Leader thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
if you have a sexy voice like he does, please think of becoming a teacher so people actually want to be in your class.
