  • VIETNAM VS. THAILAND (Which should YOU travel to?)
If you're looking to visit South East Asia and aren't sure where to travel to, Vietnam or Thailand, this video is for you.
Both countries have a lot to offer, pro's and cons... personally Thailand would be better for me if I were looking for an all round holiday and a tropical paradise.
Vietnam would be a great choice if I wanted to backpack around the country, feel a taste of a truly authentic South East Asian country that's rich in history.

@joshbonthemove I've heard Vietnam has many vegetable dishes available. Would you know if it would be easier for someone on a vegetarian or vegan diet in Vietnam or TH? BTW, loved the video. Would love to live in either of these countries for some time. Hard to decide.

    • @joshbonthemove
      @joshbonthemove  Před 20 dny

Good Q - I’m a big meat eater so I’ve not paid as much attention but a couple of things on this; 1) if you go to bigger cities/ touristy areas you’ll have a much bigger choice of vegan/ veggie restaurants (especially in Thailand) 2) you’ll 100% have options for vegetarian in almost all restaurants, it’s just the quality of it might not be as good in some places. Thanks for the comment, sorry I can’t be too much help but I’m usually the other way around 😅

    I've just travelled both.
Not full backpacker style, but I spent time in each country.
Kind of like comparing coffee to pizza.
    Very different qualities.
I was really surprised how much more 'hardcore' vietnam was by comparison.
No sidewalks. Less tourist infrastructure. Less English. But the biggest thing was the struggle was REAL among the locals in vietnam. Most of the people in Saigon seemed perilously close to abject poverty.
Thailand by comparison just never gave me that vibe. Sure there were beggers etc, but overall it all felt closer to modern China or even Japan.
    Vietnam felt like India.
Overall Thailand is better for 'holiday' and to hook up with girls.
But my travel war stories ALL came from vietnam ahaha.
I could buy codeine from the local pharmacy no questions asked.
I also got a dental crown for like $100.
Thailand was just like the west but with more asians and better prices

I am Vietnamese, our country actually stopped war and gunfire in 1989 (border conflict with China) and developed explosively since 1995 when the United States stopped the embargo.
Therefore, Vietnam has only been developing for 29 years, and the economic scale in 2024 will be 40 times greater than in 1995. That is the hard work and quality of East Asian peoples.
