I recommend Cardinal Burns which were on Channel 4 (there might still be a series on the player thing at the moment). They didn't have as much success as the two you mention, but they were really good!

My presenting colleague of many years came out as gay, because other people in the media were going to out him if he didn't do it himself on live television. This was wrong. I got massive publicity for how supportive I appeared to be to my colleague throughout this ordeal, which really bolstered my own career and made me the darling of ITV. This was great. My colleague's wife decided to stay with my gay colleague. Who knows if this was right or wrong, but the idea that my colleague was going to go back into the closet after just coming out of it was.. erm, what's the word? Oh yes - wrong. My colleague got propositioned by another man who had an ulterior motive. Is anyone surprised by this? These two gay men then kept their sexual relationship a secret from friends, family and work colleagues, who were all straight - just like 99% of all other gay men have done throughout the entire history of humankind. When I and my 'ITV family' finally discovered what was going on, we were judgemental, because no-one likes publicity about gay people having sex that we haven't deliberately and carefully scripted. We all decided to publicly tell everyone that an old gay guy and a young (but of legal age) gay guy having sex was naughty and wrong - despite the fact that old straight guys and young women have sex in the showbiz industry all the time - but we don't talk about that. I then had to go on live television and explain to everyone how betrayed I felt by my gay friend - because obviously this whole story is really about me and my career. This was completely right, because I am still the darling of ITV and my career doesn't depend on being a double act with my gay friend any more. So just remember boys and girls: talking about your gay feelings and how hard it has been hiding them from everyone is absolutely brilliant for ratings and showing how sympathetic and woke your straight friends can be. Just don't actually, you know, act on any of those feelings. Or we'll come down on you like a ton of bricks you fucking queer.

The funniest bit of all these apology sketches is the final few seconds, when after the long apology there is a pause and then they carry on as nothing has happened with their regular bland, boring kids items. That is the part which is the funniest, because it is so true. Aliens could land and take over command of the world, but Blue Peter presenters will say "anyway, we have been to the imperial war museum and here is our report"

Good on them for owning up to it, really. I think things wouldn't have gotten quite as bad as they did if certain 1980s (ish) children's TV presenters would have owned up as readily.
