This was so much fun to watch!! I was surprised to see contemporary was your second read most genre! I'm not surprised by fantasy though because I feel you read fantasy-like series, though nothing is coming to mind to give examples LOL! I feel like Yen Press is one of my most read publisher from but I need to see stats like this to see! The only goal I know of for sure next year is to start Skip Beat since I have all the volumes now, but I don't know pass that to be honest. Sort of thinking doing a TBR jar like you do, but only do a one-time pull as I don't think my inner mood reader would be happier with more then that! LOL!
Thanks for sharing these stats. :) I wonder what my stats would look like if I did one of these. I also wonder whether these stats (eg. genre stats) are influenced by what is published rather than what you actively seek out. For example, I know I would read a lot more mystery/horror manga if it were available to me.
Oh for sure. Publishers are much less likely to publish a horror manga than a slice of life or fantasy manga. And since I enjoy horror so much I tend to read new releases very quickly, so there’s really no backlog of these titles on my tbr. I do think that there were a few titles that i felt were not quite horror so I categorized them as psychological, but they definitely fit into the same category of dark/creepy/unsettling in some way.
@@tonireadsmanga Oh, totally agree on the lack of horror out there. Horror/supernatural has a passionate fanbase so wish there were more of it out there! There are also a number of old school shoujo horror that I wish would get translated. They're more spooky than gorey but that's why people don't classify them as horror, even tho they are.
I have not. That’s a digital exclusive manga for now, correct? I haven’t been able to explore Kodansha’s digital catalog too much yet but I’m hoping to do so in the new year. I’ll add that one to my list to check out.
@@tonireadsmanga 👍🏻. I'm sure once u read it your next vid will be about it . A masterpiece of psychological thriller for sure. And yes u will finish it in 2 days. So enjoy

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed! I’ve never read Skip Beat but I know it’s a pretty long series. I hope you achieve that goal!
