    Excellent job... for those that don't know... even the best cover the panels with filler... and then sand 99.9 percent of it off. That is how to get a perfect paint job. Beautiful.

    All I can say is "Bloody Great Job" to ALL that put their time and soul into this '69 charger. I own a '03 Ford Fairlane G220 which is a lot younger than this, but I still love what you've achieved. I do love the older Dodges' Fords' and some GM's, but it's what you love and drive that matters. Keep your heart into whatever you're driving, fixing, restoring, give it all you have. Cheers from Kev

    Regarding the color: I own a 1969 Dodge Charger RT/SE that originally came in this color. I believe it's F-3 Light Green Metallic. I did a total resto on the car and decided against restoring it in this color, instead going with Q-4 Light Turquoise metallic, with a white interior, white vinyl top, and white bumblebee stripe across the trunk. I still love the look of the 69 Charger, but just couldn't put the green paint back on once I had it down to bare metal. Still, kudos for restoring your Charger!

    This Dodge Charger is the best muscle car body style of all time. In 1976, a friend of mine had a beautiful red 70 RT with a Hemi he wanted to sell. I wanted it so bad, but at the time the payment for the car, plus the cost of insurance made the car unfordable to me. What he wanted for it then vs what it is worth now is penny's on the dollar.

    In 1978 I bought a 69 Charger 318 automatic for $150. Turned it into a General Lee of course as a kid in high school would do. Later bought a 69 GTX 440 4 speed when I was in college. Lost interest in the Charger and parted it out to finance fixing the GTX. It was this color green with a black vinyl top. I have kicked myself in the ass so many times for ever giving up on that charger. Now they cost so much even for a clunker, I'll never be able to afford one ever again. I guess hindsight is always 20/20.

    • @lmoore5264
      @lmoore5264 Před 7 lety

      Yes it was 1978. $150 was a good chunk of change for a high school kid to come up with.

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 Před 7 lety +1

      Seems like a lot of people do the General Lee. If I had a 69 and a boat full of money I would have the car painted to car look exactly like the Charger in the movie "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry". I love that color and the black stripe.

      That a good deal even in 78..thats $575 today !! Must of had 250,000 miles plus....I sold those cars then,and after 99,999 they went to 00,000 people didnt know that lol..
      My 68 Charger RT has 500,000 plus original miles..I rebuilt the engine /trans and restored it now,but...I have all records..I have a 220,000 mile 71 Cuda ! 150,000 miles from 1971-1982 and wasnt a daily driver since 1978 !
      I bought my 68 Charger RT in '72 at 16..Still have it today ! Bought a 71 Cuda 340 billboard car in 1978,ran 13.10 in the 1/4 with a re-jetted carb and headers and 3.54 gears ! In 1982 I put a correct 71 440 6barrel and 727 in it..I still have those plus many others as I bought/sold those cars my whole life..GM/Fords too..But my collection is Mopar and made me wealthy today !
      Sorry for your loss....It is too bad the last few years they really jumped in price...You need $80,000 to buy one and spend another $30,000 to get it pristine...

  • @joshwoosterproductions4717

    If I was restoring (I'm an amateur so have not a lot of idea what I'm talking about) I would build it but then do the paint and work for hours to get it good. There's no point (in my mind) of working on the paint because when I would be doing the wiring and bolting and putting all the stuff like lights on it, I would be paranoid as hell that I would scratch it and have to waste more time to get the scratch out.

      I know of one salvage yard that specializes in old cars up through the 70's and 80's in north texas, but the owner is awfully proud of his inventory. He once tried to sell me a fender with a hole rusted through it for $75 for a 72 mustang, as an example. Guy is nuts. Complete car like this would probably run you $15k from him.
