people never do this model in particular correctly. because it has downdraft intake the carburetors are on top so the gas is more on the side by the seat so the gas tank is a little bit bigger than normal forming part of the body so when you take the body off you have to take that into account and paint the bottom of the tank black so the tank looks smaller and people mistakenly leave the subframe low like you can do on most other bikes. it's a pain in the ass but you can't just throw a c on top of the old subframe it has to be lifted at least a couple inches if you don't the seed is way too low and it makes the hump on the tank weigh High and just look so ugly if you just make a seat higher and paint the bottom of the tank black or leave it alone just make the seat higher it changes the look of the whole bike otherwise it's a beautiful job and most people neglect these facts
or, they could do the job how they want it done..... mine is Caff racer converted (yes the correct term if we are being pedantic is caff ('60's term)) and i have used the original configuration of the frame. will have is shortened when funds allow. your opinion is yours, it is not necessarily correct.
If you wanted to build a cafe racer you didn't achieve your goal, this bike looks anything but cafe racer, mounting CR seat, bar end mirrors, clip ons do not make a CR bike, go, full fill your lack in knowledge and then go back to the "messed up" bike and fix it!!!
coming from a man who looks like he has done just the same to a cx500 , fuck off with your opinion , you are the the type of person who ruins the cafe racer scene for everyone else, you have no idea at all ! i suppose the bike in the background isnt a cafe racer either. In fact changing a seat unit dropping the forks and lightening the bike does infact make a cafe racer ! that was the whole point to make the bike handle better and go faster , just because its not an old bike means nothing , you my friend are just doing what so many people have done before , ive seen countless cx500 cafe racers , although i love them they have been done to death, ive built countless bikes all different styles , you are just a want to be with a big mouth
@@wippy748s I have to agree with you, maybe Mr-googleman have a delution that a bike have to be altered in every little part and bolt to be a caferacer? resulting in bikes looking like a crismas-tree, like the clean lines on your bike, nice job!
