    My Triax is on order !! It's the first time I've been able to buy the newest Mathews bow being released. I was always limited by my 24.5 inch draw length and 50 lb. draw weight. My husband insisted that I get it, I am so blessed !!!

      Jesse Detrick Awesome to hear Jesse!! That seems to be the general consensus :) Have fun with it, hope you can still hunt with it somewhere...maybe turkey coming up?

    Well I had 2 options at my Mathew's dealer for the triax. Stone riser and elevated II limbs or an all elevated II finish. I came home with the all elevated II. I love this bow. You can feel how much better this is to my Mathew's Creed XS. A LOT FASTER and so much smoother of a draw. Live your videos.

      Kenton Dvorak that is awesome to hear! It really is my favorite hunting bow so far...going all the way back to my old Darton 30MX in 1986, and every Mathews hunting bow since 92. Enjoy it...I sure do

    I went with a brand new Halon 32-6. With 60 pound pull weight and 30.5" draw length, instead of the Triax. Nothing against the Triax, just did not fit me. The angle of the string was too flat, and the bow just felt nowhere near as good as the Halon. But you sir have a nice bow, and keep the videos coming!

    • @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  Před 5 lety

      Now that's a long draw length! I don't blame you there...really good fit for you. That 32 is a great bow too. I actually love my new Vertix and I think I like the longer ATA on that too...
      Thanks a lot and I really appreciate the feedback! I will do my best to keep them coming...

    I bought the V3 31 this year and I love it.
    But I am still bringing the Triax into the tree stand because I just love it that much. And I have a lot of kills on it

  • @thealbertaoutdoorsmen8251

    I love my Triax! Thanks for the review, it helped me make a confident purchase. Off topic question. Who make your fleece camo? It’s getting harder and harder to find nice fleece outer wear.

    Hey man, The triax was my first Mathews bow and both bucks I shot were at 23 yards. They didn't even flinch when the bow released, only after the arrow had passed through. i have some trouble pulling it on the stand though. When on the ground I like to spread my feet a tad more than standing completely upright and for some reason on the stand I struggle a bit. But I do get it. However I shoot 70lbs. comfortably on the ground but again, not as comfy on the stand because of my posture. thinking of dialing it down to 65 but not sure. regardless. sweet silent bow.

      Whitetail Habitat Solutions I agree, I've been a BIG Hoyt fan since 2008 buying 2 new Hoyts every year and Mathews really did something special with this Triax bow. I actually enjoy shooting it. I wonder if Mathews can top it next year. Maybe lighten it up to 3pounds. I don't know but Mathews saved me $1600 because I was about to buy a RX1. So thank you Mathews :)

      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  Před 6 lety +1

      OhioHunter Vlogs ha, that's a lot of savings!! Man, a very light material riser would be pretty nice...go slightly longer, an even faster cam? I always wonder if Mathews will break into the lite weight riser arena...

    • @Anything.is.Possible

      Whitetail Habitat Solutions They did with the Heli-m at 3.6 pounds. If they could do that again mixing Triax technologies it would be a 100% Hoyt Carbon crusher.

      OhioHunter Vlogs Man I hope that is the case! Would be the perfect bow. Well, perfect until the next perfect bow comes along, lol. Amazing how they still keep improving...

      Bet you can't wait Alex!! Dang the setup sounds like a screamer...bet it will be very fast, and very quiet for how fast it is. Hope you have a lot of success with it, I really enjoyed the 10 weeks in the field I had with mine.

      Whitetail Habitat Solutions passthrough are my favorite. The deer die faster there for suffer less, and its easier to find them. Love your videos, keep them coming!

    • @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  Před 6 lety +1

      Mine ended up being 276fps, 27" draw, 62#s, Carbon Express Maxima Red 350s. Unfortunately I don't know the weight of the arrow so that doesn't help much, but my Creed and No-cam were right around 250-252 fps, exact same setup, same arrows, etc.

    I enjoyed your commercial video. It was one of the videos that convinced me to buy a Triax. That's a sweet tree and spot you got for hunting. Too bad you weren't able to film slaying a deer with the new stick and string but sometimes that's just life. So, regarding camo what's your opinion about the different patterns? I went the GAOS in Harrisburg this week and a lot of the pro shooters told me camo is basically about fashion. Male hunters are demanding new camo patterns like chicks do with matching purses and shoes. One shooter pointed to a bunch of bows about 20 yards from our position and said he'd give me $20 if I could name any of the camo patterns. At any rate, I got the Triax in Lost Camo XD and I must say it's a very interesting pattern. It looks at 5-10 yards like no other camo I've ever seen. It almost looks like there are breakups in the form with the ample whites and pinks they have on the bow. But what the hell do you think about camo? Your pattern was sweet looking.

      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  Před 6 lety +1

      Donovan Stockton that's great hear Donovan...hope you really enjoy the Triax, I sure have!
      I've always liked a lighter camo pattern for treestand hunting. I use Sitka right now and the great thing about Sitka is that not only is the Elevated II designed for treestand hunting, but Sitka clothing is probably the best hunting clothing in the market. From early season to bitter cold, Sitka is engineered to be layered and meet everything that mother nature can throw at you, while specifically bowhunting. It is expensive, but if you are like me you expect your camo to last for decades...not years. It is the best clothing I have seen, and most are not even close. Built in hand warmers, articulated elbows and knees, tighter sleeves for shooting a bow, the best materials money can buy...and the company is owned by the company that created Goretex, Gore. So, camo isn't everything but Sitka has risen towards the top of hunting clothing world by offering a great bowhunting camo pattern while most importantly, not sacrificing fit, form or function. While camo patterns tend to blur together at times, Sitka is a leader if high quality hunting clothing designed for the all season bowhunter, let alone their big game and waterfowl series...

    I have the Matthews DXT and it's time for a new bow I wasn't very satisfied with the DXT because it wasn't very good for an average shooter like me who isn't the greatest bow shot in the world. Is the Triax ok for an average bow shooter who doesn't shoot everyday and sometimes makes mistakes here and there while shooting?

    • @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  Před 6 lety

      Liberty Construction good question! In my experience the Triax is more forgiving than the DTX and better in every category. But, what's your draw length?

    • @libertyBuilders
      @libertyBuilders Před 6 lety +1

      Whitetail Habitat Solutions 29

    • @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  Před 6 lety

      Liberty Construction I would try the Halon 32 and the Triax...shoot them both side by side and see what you think! I like both, a lot. The 32 will be slightly more forgiving. The Triax smoother on the draw, 4" shorter and 1/2# lighter. Also a little faster, and speed equals less draw weight that you have to pull...about 1# less draw for every 2fps. Typically you can shoot a bow more accurately at fewer pounds. I bet you can shoot the Triax 12-14#s less than you DTX and still get the same speed...not that you may want to, but that is probably the difference. The 32 would be a drastic difference too...that all boils down to huge increases in KE if you maintain the same draw weight.

    • @libertyBuilders
      @libertyBuilders Před 6 lety +1

      Whitetail Habitat Solutions I'll try them both thanks for the advice.

    I'm torn. I have a Halon 32 on order, I havent compound hunted in over 10 years. My friends told me the ATA on the Triax would make it difficult for me to get back into due to accuracy.

    • @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  Před 6 lety

      Tyler what's your drawlength?

    • @Tyler181
      @Tyler181 Před 6 lety +1

      28-29 depending on bow brand. From what I have recently discovered.

    • @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  Před 6 lety

      Tyler one thing about draw length is that you can easily go shorter a couple of inches by bending your bow arm elbow a bit more...but it's tough to go even a 1/2" too long.
      I would say shoot them both. You may really appreciate the smooth draw of the Triax! I found the Triax very consistent and a very accurate bow...but slightly less forgiving than the Halon 32. If I as shooting a mix of 3D, indoor Target and hunting I would go with the Halon 32. If I was going pure hunting...the Triax all the way for me! At 28" draw you would be a lot better with the string angle than at a 30" draw, but with those huge oversized cams the angle is much better than in past years with smaller came on short ATA bows.
      I found the bow very forgiving for the ATA! Pretty cool bow all around and I think it has a lot to do with just how efficient the bow is, by not wasting energy. They get a huge amount of the bow's energy to transfer to the arrow, which translates into more speed, less vibration and extreme quietness.
      Personally, I am wishing for a carbon fiber Triax at about 32" this Fall...a pound lighter and everything else about the same :)

    • @Tyler181
      @Tyler181 Před 6 lety +1

      saddly I cant wait as I dont have another bow to practice with lol. I could switch from the Halon 32 to the Triax 28, but several people have said not as accurate due to the ATA. I am pretty much a beginner again since I have been out of compound for so long.

    • @Tyler181
      @Tyler181 Před 6 lety +1

      I dont have the halon 32 yet its on order. But I can cancel in lue of the triax if I wanted. I just dont want get into something getting back into archery thats going to make bad form and technique MORE apparent than it will already be. Which would then make training more difficult .

    Funny how every single person that gets free gear from Mathews says the same thing, almost as if their talking points are given to them by Mathews marketing department. You will never convince me that a 28 inch axle to axle is better than the Mathews Halon 32. I went to my local bow shop and shot this bow and I can tell you nothing compares to the Mathews Halon 32. Also, you forgot to mention the draw cycle on the Triax is more aggressive and its actually harder to pull back 70 pounds on it compared to the Halon 32
