  • Learn how to make 4 types of Spam Musubi! A local Hawaiian version to the Japanese musubi. Super simple but super yummy to eat! Pack a spam musubi with plastic wrap and take it with you anywhere for lunch, dinner, or snack! Great for a picnic, swim at the beach, or any hangout.

    Spam Musubi:
    3 cups cooked rice
    1 can Spam
    3 sheets nori (seaweed)
    3 Eggs (optional)
    1/2 tsp Furikake Seasoning (optional)
    Teriyaki Sauce:
    2 tbsp shoyu (soy sauce)
    2 tbsp white cooking wine
    2 tbsp sugar
    1 clove crushed garlic

    I read you can also use the spam container that it came in to do the shape without that little clear box!

    It's so much easier to put the spam in the mold, then the rice. Fold over the rice and you can skip the hassle of dabbing water on the ends of the nori.

      This is how I do it too! And you only need to press the rice one time.

    I lucked out and found that musubi mold at a Good Will in Grand Junction CO. 😹 I was SO HAPPY! It makes it so easy to make perfectly shaped rice balls.

    I use sushi rice like how I make onigiri. Is that the right kind of rice? I like to make things as authentic as possible until I get the hang of it then adjust it to me personal tastes. Thank you for your videos!

      For spam musubi, it doesn't need sushi rice. Just plain rice. But you can make it however you like 😉

      When I'm pressed for time I use bottled teriyaki sauce, but Huli Huli sounds even better! Yum! 🤤
