Yuna saying that she became more comfortable with midzys that she trusts midzys by showing being who she really is and showing her true self other than editing her pictures and being too perfect on camera. I love that. I love it so much more than knowing that they are trying hard just to be perfect in our eyes. Besides, they are perfect no matter what. The fact that they’re not holding back to use their english even if it’s not perfect is just amazing to me. I mean they have Lia and she can lead every english interview easily or they can just speak in korean and they’ll translate later, but instead they challenge themselves and speak in english and you can see how much they’ve improved since their first english interview. Itzy are like the first kpop group where all the members can pull off a conversation in english. Im so proud of them.
Even Yeji who is known to be really shy about her English really pushed herself here to speak more! Ryujin really grasps the natural conversation flow and Yuna speaks with her whole body so even if she isn't landing the words and phrases she's still getting her point across. Chaeryeong stays quiet but when she speaks she's got good rhythm and phrases too. I'm so impressed by them and proud of them!!

Im sorry to drag this, but its still shocks me that JYP gave them good English education in those short 3 years, why not TWICE the same? Or just few of them? Am still shocked, like they are from the same company tho..😅 and Twice tour is coling soon too :/
@@blink-oncefeat.multistan1300 it's a different mentality for each group. Twice was meant to from creation to become big in SK/East Asia that's why he had three Japanese members and a Taiwanese member. For proof you just need to look at his history; miss A literally stood for "miss Asia" under this concept that they would take over Asia musically, but he let the group fall apart. He was also coming off of his failure to push Wondergirls in the US and probably wanted to step back from the concept of a western group. Twice succeeded with all of that, and now in their later years he's giving fans English albums and testing the waters with them.
Now ITZY, JYP has talked a ton about how "there's no way to teach a foreign language, to succeed in a foreign country you MUST have a native speaker in a group" that's why he had Min(who spoke English) and Jia/Fei in miss A. He probably learned that through Wondergirls not making it big in the US. Because of him saying this and also Somi being a huge JYP trainee that spoke English, people kinda knew the next gg would be a more international/maybe even western focused group. It ended up that Somi left JYP, but Lia is still in the group and can be considered a native Eng speaker. So itzy from conception was meant to be pushed in to the west as a bilingual group, and with self produced variety shows and youtube channels doing interviews becoming a thing these last few years (and BTS going huge and being able to do US talk shows) I'm sure JYP saw the value for all 5 girls to get intense English lessons so that they can become conversational and succeed in their goal from their concept. It's actually pretty interesting to see the whole thing like a timeline like this, but that's why we don't see twice getting lessons like this. Also look at Ryujin. She got to that level of conversation through sheer passion and practice, kinda like the BTS member who learned Eng from watching Friends (I'm sorry idk who, I'm not an Army, I just appreciate what they've done for kpop in the west). Twice had some English lessons before Twicelights, but only Dahyun showed that level of passion when it came to speaking English. And Mina is familiar with English but she isn't a native speaker. For the record I've been a ONCE since Sixteen so I'm saying this as a fan, but the group isn't trying to "make it" in the west the way that Itzy is. So that's why.
Tl;Dr Twice was made to succeed in SK/JP so they learned japanese, Itzy was made to succeed in SK/the West so they're learning English.

while there are obviously clue cards behind the camera, yeji has definitely improved her confidence in English by a lot. When you are confidence in a language, you speak more. if you speak well, you will be more confidence. if you don't, you learn from your mistake and gets better.

Ryujin's english keeps surprising me all the time
Ryujin went to an international school when she was a child she always have been fluent in English the same as Lia but Ryujin never lived abroad like Lia that’s why she still have a Korean accent . She learned English from Koreans that were 100% fluent in English but had Korean accent.

Lia is the one who went to international school..and as for Ryujin she can speak English ..like before she is not that vocal when speaking English maybe as time goes by and being close to Lia helps a lot now she can speak longer than usual..same as for Yuna being her roommate...aside from r having an English teacher.

I’ve never watched a single ITZY video/interview/show that is not fun to watch. Never. I think except from being stronger and more powerful every comeback, what changed a lot in ITZY is their entertaining skills and being more confident and comfortable with themselves, to the fans, and everyone they interact with. Not to mention their english skills.

Love them for being candid. They do whatever they want, no fakes. Many idol nowadays love their image that much, that they are willing to fake anything just to gain peoples favor. And I'm happy to see this group break those social norm.

One thing I like to Lia, Let her member talk, she just listen.
I like the way they answered always have sense of humor, one of a kind girl group. They are my first and last kpop idols that I admire most, they are different, beautiful inside and out.
she is there when there are long dialogues. this is a life saver for most non-native speakers. at other times, she knows when to drop a line in and makes the whole conversation interesting.
Lia is their English language mentor.
She always help them to learn new English words and how to speak them in a sentence.
I think they would have it more difficult without her.

Lia, even without saying much, actually put a lot of fresh air into the clip. Sometimes what the other four says, while in perfect English, doesn't click because of a culture difference. Lia's timely response would bring some clues, "Oh, now I see why they speak like that." "I get it." Without Lia and Ryujin, the clip would look like them reading straight out from the clue card, might be understandable, but definitely boring.

Ryujin's english actually keeps suprising me after every english interview. Theyve all improved. It's especially nice to see Yuna speaking more and more in english now. Not only are they improving, they're also getting more comfortable and confident in speaking in english 👏👏👏

Almost 3 years of debuting but if feels like 5 years, just because they are so good at their job, like the improvement is massive. This is the third time they are on seventeen which is awesome! I love itzy! First time was not shy era when the members starting slowly to speak English, second time is big improvement speaking english of all members and 3rd time fluent in english and gone more pretty every year
Then and now they speak better English. So proud. I know it is not easy but their effort to communicate with international fans is really something to be applauded
