I'm not sure you understand how a courtroom works. If the prosecution doesn't have any evidence of a crime, taking the stand will ONLY hurt you. It's like if you are told "Hey, if you don't play the lottery I'll give you 500 million dollars." and you play it anyway...Nobody would do that.
