@@essiehall5798 That's the episode, that finally made me pull the trigger on getting a graphics tablet, but watching spencer in this one, made me finally realize what Nathan has been saying for years, Art is just shapes, replicate them.
Now I just need a break through on coloring, cause dog cutesit I still don't have the slightest hint on color theory/rendering.
The breakthrough for me was when I rewatched Spencers Animation part on .25 speed, and came up with my own process for digital art, perhaps other people use it, but I've haven't seen a tutorial of anyone do something similar for a comic before, and its working for me.
To work on my art, I started a little webtoons series, just for me, at the start, I was gonna do one page at a time, sketch, line art, color, render. Done.
But I have since moved onto the new process.
I've plotted out all major panels, and events for the first 30 pages, with rough layout, and sketches, we are talking, like, squiggles, and rough body shape, along with text, and story info. (like going through, and working on all my keys first, so I know the direction I need)
And now, one by one, I am going from the beginning, and doing a sketch over the rough layout, and initial sketch, then on top of that sketch, I do my lines, and clean up. With adding in pages, or changing dialogue as I go.
Storyboard? Is it called Storyboarding? I feel like this is just a form of Storyboarding.... :P lets just leave this revelation here... like I have been for most of my posts.
I'm doing it this way, and then gonna go back over the finished pieces with color, if I ever figure it out.
Them saying the episode is peaceful without Jacob when they absolutely TERRORIZE him every intro is *SUCH* a power move
Not to mention doing all of that knowing he's going to be editing the video.

Granted, the Alucard Julia drew looks better than my idea, because he looks like he should be on a colored version of the poster for Batman: Arkham City. Even with the burn, Julia's streak for best artist continues.

I would have honestly laughed if Julia one-upped Spencer by being like:
"So, I did Alucard in the style of Doom.
So what I did first was open up a C devtool and made a game.
Then I made 107 sprites with animations."
I would kill myself at that piont as all artists should at that point the messiah was born and everyone was horrible compared to her so It was better that there lives ended to better suit hers there can only be one after that
If she had the full two weeks she'd have done it
So I did Alucard in the style of Horizon Zero Dawn. I started by designing and manufacturing a sufficiently powerful dev kit and console to run and develop the game...

I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but she also perfectly built up that joke. "just futzing around with the colors a lot" "learning the medium" "normally you go big to small but I wanted to draw the face" "did a lot of work in one spot then covered it up" and then she took a break and went "ah screw it, I gotta get this done".
That sounds like something you say after spending 5 hours at something. Yet she so casually throws out "45 minutes" like she's surprised nobody else draws in the hyperbolic time chamber.

Fun fact: my brother applied to be a background artist for the castlevania show but didn't get accepted. My brother was such a fan of the show though that he made a really accurate 3D model of Draculas castle from the different angles it showed from the actual show. He posted it and the company immediately saw it and got angry at him because they wanted to know how their 3D model for the castle got leaked. My brother explained that he made it on his own as a fanart, so they took a closer look and noticed that it wasn't 100% accurate. They were so impressed that they offered him a job but he had to turn it down cause he had already signed on with a video game company. It was pretty funny.

I usually use Knochengeier as a username on other media sites which means “bone vulture” in German, mainly because its actual names Ossifrage (Latin for “bone breaker”) and Lämmergeier (German for “Lamb vulture”) have already been taken.

I love the moment where Julia describes Alucard as a "bag of fluid and anger", because in my native language, "little bag of anger" is an actual phrase to describe a petulant child :D
My favorite part about this episode was how Drawfee was able to keep its “drawfee” personality while also adjusting their conduct for Spencer. Nathan seemed more reserved. Karina kept it light. Julia praised him with laughs and comments. And then there’s Jacob. Loved it.

Not quite. Spencer went to his time tested staple. Animating an action scene. Still impressive, don't get me wrong. Julia, on the other hand, learned an entirely new notoriously difficult program AS SHE DID HER SPEED DRAW, in record time no less. Nothing will ever compare to that. The woman is a genius.
