Injury is no excuse. All athletes get injured. Look at Wightman struggling in the same race. But it wasn't close, Kerr got in front and stayed there for 600m. Should be a great rivalry between them. Ingebrigtsen has the faster times, but racing isn't about times, it's about beating everyone else.

World Best Performance for Cameron Myers - smashed Jacob's previous age 17 worlds best. Jacob ran 3:52.26 and Myers ran 3:50.15 here.

That is impressive and he deserves attention. It is worth noting that Jakob ran a 3:52.28 mile at 17, but he also ran a 3:31.18 1500m at 17, which equals a 3:47.92 mile.

Kerr was always going to come out on top here any way they ran this, simply because he's been racing well. No matter how fit you are, without racing it's near impossible to hit top form. This was Ingebrigtson's season opener, dude hasn't raced in months. Everything could change between now and Paris, so grab some popcorn.
