- Walking tour in a rainy day of August in Vaduz' s center, Vaduz is the capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the seat of the Landtag. The city, located along the Rhine River, has 5,668 inhabitants with a very tiny center.
Liechtenstein is a central European state. Enclosed between Switzerland and Austria, it is one of only two countries in the world that is doubly landlocked . The official language is German, and is the fourth smallest state in Europe.
A third of Liechtenstein's inhabitants are foreigners, mainly from Switzerland and Austria. Another important ethnic component of the principality is made up of Italian workers, who make up 3.1% of the total.
It follows a policy of neutrality and is one of the states without armed forces.
