I like how lowkey meta this trailer is. Playing with your expectations by showing you a run of the mill cozy indie farming game like the countless that show up in these showcases, and then it hits you with the existential dread.

@@Eryncerise I've never owned a Mac but I know the ARM->x86 emulation is getting better, and WINE is great these days. Definitely give those compatibility layers another shot if you haven't in a while!
@@CodyNeiman Thanks! I have tried it recently and it is a bit more finicky for me than I would like. I was able to get, for example, the fan game Pokemon Infinite Fusion to run (after a lot of effort), but I was not able to get something like The Complex: Found Footage to render properly. So it seems like a gamble whether something will work with it or not. Fingers crossed 🤞
Huh, I wonder if Davey is familiar with Berserk, Vagabond, or Vinland Saga, because the premise for this is surprisingly reminiscent. It's such an effective framework for exploring how to enjoy the simple beauty in life despite all of the hardships that may have shaped you. Maybe that’s not exactly what this is, but if so, it's rather clever to use the trend of "cozy games" to tell such a story.
This minute and a half long trailer game me goosebumps and made me genuinely feel for a character I know almost nothing about. I am so incredibly excited for this

Escapism is awesome. Watch movies, read books, play games, distract yourself, regain strength, relax. Hobbies are worth it. When you solved your basic needs including fun, when you regained strength and are calm, then you can reflect your life. And start changing things. That said, cozy games aren't necessary for this at all.

This isn't a panic attack, these are circling thoughts. In a panic attack, you get angst, angst to die from suffocation (no worries you won't!), and they take at least half an hour up until multiple hours.
Working on this for 7 years? because it looks alot like something that's been worked on during the last 2 or 3 years specifically, unless this is a Homeworld 3 "massive narrative 'restructuring' late in development" type situation.
It’s not good in a gameplay form but the music and idea of a ptsd ridden character trying to live a peaceful life is really interesting and unique. Lots of people have ptsd, from war, trauma, a lot will relate to it
