@@NeoLotex that does tend to happen sometimes. I solvent it by doing an evade towards the dude and hitting ground takedown the moment the roll is finishing. I've played so much of thks and city I know when the animation can be overridden Ivy was hard as I sometimes was *just* too close to the vines. That, and the fact that I think they grow quicker on hard

if anyone wants a good tip, ground takedowns do 100 x the combo you have so if you end every round with two ground take downs with a 30 x combo you get 3000 extra points, throw batarangs to KO them before you do it

So basically: every combat move has a base value associated. That base value is multiplied with the combo number. You need to keep your combo up and do higher base numbered attacks to get the point thresholds. Variation bonus be damned. I’m just gonna keep the combos going
variation bonus helps your combo and gives you extra points, if you get x7 you get 2000 and when you get x10 you get like 3000 extra points, its basically a free point earner

Ok, these challanges made me go crazy but if you get the hang of it and take your time it gets so much easier. You need to attack slowly and block whenever someone approaches you
I remember playing this in the mid 2010s and I just got all of them becouse I knew all the moves. Arkham in its combat was slower.... yet I got the hang of it. They all have different takes but I like this one and I think want to play this again. :3 🦇🤡

I'm currently on the challenges as well. I'm at 82% and I wanted to finish all the challenges before I "go to the party" to finally face the Joker so I end at 100% once I defeat him but man I think I might just beat the Joker first then go back to the challenges cause they're really tough.
@@stonecold316339 Honestly, that is what I did. I am currently sitting at 99% Got to get 50K Score for the last Extreme Battle Challange which isn't too hard compared to Shock and Awe (Extreme). I did learn better rythym and I would usually wait a second after attacking to do my next move unless you get close for a counter and trying to get as much variation of attacks really does help. Practice makes perfect, but most of all is keeping a really cool head when playing cause it can and will get seriously frustrating at times. Otherwise, good luck to you. You got this!
Return to Arkham Asylum has aged so fucking badly when compared to Arkham City. And Shock & Awe Extreme is near impossible. I did this game to 100% completion four times on original release, but it just show how badly controls and mechanics can age for even the best games. Though City and Knight are still amazing.
So you choose to play games out of chronological order?? Never could understand why people do that, knowing the story from Asylum directly ties into City.

In Arkham Knight i played challenges and couldn't achieve all medals, but, BUT, in new game there are new challenges aside this regular and i needed only 2 or 3 stars for last trophy. I did few challenges for few stars and worked! So, question here is .. Did anyboby try to start new game, same profile of course. Some medals/stars/batrangs could be accumulative with medals from first game slot and on this way we could make this agony shorter and give joy and happiness to all players! I will try. 🦇
Trifon hey there, since writing that comment I somehow managed to get gold on all the challenges and platinum the game. Wasn’t an easy task. Basically if you’re stuck just try and get 10,000 points on the first round, keep restarting until you finally get it, and then play the rest of the rounds and pray you get 3 stars. It’s honestly just luck mate. If you sit down and play for a couple of hours you’ll get it eventually
Trifon basically mate if you need help with the free flow combat system, my top tip would be remember that you have a lot of time in between punching guys, I used to button smash until I realised you can take it slow. Make sure when you start a combo you move the camera around and aim at the next guy you’re gunna punch. Double tap X to evade, so you’re no where near enemies and you’re not at risk of being hit, every so often. I used the special takedown as much as I can too. You’ll get it bro
Trifon like try to tell yourself you’re only gonna press one button per enemy, refrain from button smashing, if you press the wrong button like counter by accident the combo will end, so yeah try your best to get a big combo in the first round, hope that helped

Javier Akinde it took me soooo long. A good week. I'm not as good as someone like BAV. Plus you can see I'm not perfect in the more extreme challenges. But I make it work and I like to think I pump out decent walkthroughs
i spent hours on the sewer bat challenge and i couldn’t do it i was going for a platinum but this one challenge made me lose all motivation to do so i refuse to attempt this challenge ever again in my life and i hate it with a passion idk what the developers where thinking with the way they determine ur points bc i had a flawless combo all 4 rounds even did at least 2 ground takedowns and still didn’t even get 18,000 points

Shosk and awe EXTREME is the hardest combat challenge. Been trying this one challenge for 10 hours + and my best is 27,000 score. Most the time i run out of time. Im at 99% ,this challenge is preventing me getting the Platinum 😭

@@BubblegumFrame1 Yep it became weird playing like that at first for this game specifically but I’m now used to it and love it but Story mode play is 45 FPS and that’s cool to but was still a new experience
Start each round by trying to get at least a x6 variation combo bonus and then just focus on maintaining your combos after that which is basically all about rhythm with your strikes and counters and consistently getting at least a x40 combo as you'll rack up a lot of points quickly and make use of the quick takedowns at every opportunity. Don't even bother with ground takedowns until you only have 1-2 enemies left to give yourself enough time to execute it. If you still have a big combo going, you'll get mega-points with those ground takedowns. If you're good, you can easily get to the gold score requirement before even reaching the final round. Advice for those struggling? Get good. It's really not that difficult.

It's all about rhythm and maintaining rhythm and keeping your combos up for higher scores. People struggling are struggling because they're probably just button mashing and being careless with their inputs and breaking combos and to stop doing this, you have to get better and be more mindful of your inputs. It's as simple as that, it's really not that difficult.

Start each round by trying to get at least a x6 variation combo bonus and then just focus on maintaining your combos after that which is basically all about rhythm with your strikes and counters and consistently getting at least a x40 combo as you'll rack up a lot of points quickly and make use of the quick takedowns at every opportunity. Don't even bother with ground takedowns until you only have 1-2 enemies left to give yourself enough time to execute it. If you still have a big combo going, you'll get mega-points with those ground takedowns. If you're good, you can easily get to the gold score requirement before even reaching the final round.
Advice for those struggling? Get good. It's really not that difficult.

@@GodOfSpeed2099 Not being a dick at all. It literally is all about getting good. The combat in the Arkham games is about as simple and straightforward as it gets. It's all about rhythm and maintaining rhythm and keeping your combos up for higher scores.
People struggling are struggling because they're probably just button mashing and being careless with their inputs and breaking combos and to stop doing this, you have to get better and be more mindful of your inputs. It's as simple as that, it's really not that difficult.
