- Finally get the Humminbird MEGA LIVE dialed in so that it looks as good maybe better than Garmin Livescope. Watch this video to the end. Near the end of the video, I make a change on the settings that is a GAME CHANGER for MEGA LIVE IMAGING! You can actually see the fishes gills, fins and movement as it swims over the top of a letdown next to a bluff wall.

That is unbelievable how clearly that big fish can be seen swimming around. Cool !
Thanks for watching!
Outstanding video! Exactly what I was looking for. Just installed a new Ulrex Quest with Mega Live, and just waiting on the weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Great help on setup Mega Live. Thanks!
Thanks for watching
Humminbird owes you money for making this video. That is the clearest image I've ever seen anyone get on the mega live. You made me almost buy one but I am holding out I think it's going to get better I think they will do like Garmin and bring a new transducer out.
Any rumours on when a new transducer will or could be released
Thank you Jim. This was the best video I’ve ever watched to learn about my new mega live. I have a solex 10 and can’t wait to dial in my settings just like this.
Awesome. I have a Facebook group called Dialed In as well.
I give u A+ on this one for sure.
Thanks for watching!
Great video
Thanks for watching!
Just bought one, best video I've seen on the mega live. Thanks for the help!!
I have a bunch more, look on my channel for a playlist “Dialed in series”.
Great video, Thank you Big Jim
Great work Jim...Very helpful...trying your settings tomorrow .. thanks for your time/knowledge
Thanks for watching!
Good information I forwarded to a friend who has the Hummingbird live unit to setup. Big Jim I know you keep your stuff nice and have a suggestion for getting that trolling motor head scratch painted. Fellow youtuber Rat Rod Bob. He paints with a rag. No overspray to worry about. Get your matching black spray a rag outside and get it wet. Immediately rub it over area that needs touch up. I've used this trick several times and like results. 👍
awesome job
Thanks!
Looks dialed in real good, great tips. I'm hoping to get a nice setup like that eventually.
Thanks Jim, I enjoyed the heck out of theshow. I see you have wrapped the boat and I understand why you did. Just to be honest I liked the factory paint job better. However it still looks good. Just looks like so many others. Getting back to this video you did a great job of explaining the Megga live!!!!. Thank you Bob
Thanks
Another awesome video Shipmate. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching
Thanks Jim. Enjoy your videos and also this series on the Mega Live.
Thanks Chris
Hi from Australia Jim.
I just ordered the mega-live and your video will be very helpful. Thanks 👍🏻
Thanks for watching mate!
Good video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks
Good Job! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I am hoping to get Mega Live soon and I will refer back to your video.
Thanks for watching
Enjoyed your video! Thanks for all your efforts
Thanks Mike. Appreciate it.
Perfect way to get that algorithm going!!! Great video too!! Love my mega live!
Thanks for comment Ken
Thank you for sharing, will be trying this next trip 👍👍
Thank you for commenting and watching
Nice setup, Love the red Phoenix. Keep it coming.
Thanks for watching and commenting
Big Jim Awesome! Thank you for your time and effort to demonstrate how to dial-in Mega Live. I don't own one yet because I didn't think it was as good as Garmin, however, you have shown everyone Mega Live is worth purchasing, good job and I love your entire setup. On your next video, it would be great to see your lure and the fish together, looking forward to viewing with the new setting.
That will be coming. I’m gonna set up a GoPro mount on the graph to do it. Give me a couple of weeks cause I’m prepping for BFL on Saturday
Thanks, Jim! Great video! This helps out a lot!! Thank you for taking the time in sharing your settings. I will definitely try these settings. What a major difference!!!
Thank you
Wow man. That’s amazing. I wasn’t sure about Mega Live or if I wanted one but now I believe.
Thanks for watching. Please subscribe. I shot another one and it will be up next week
My first outing with the new update was not impressive at all! I was ready to toss the unit! But your video has confirmed my suspicions after my disastrous experience. I thought that the recommended settings was the end all, be all. What I have deduced is, with the new update, the unit is more powerful. Keeping the sensitivity on 15 in shallow water will produce a snowy, washed out image. Which is what I got. The lesson from my experience and your video tells me that we need to be ready and willing to change the sensitivity based upon water depth to get the most out of Mega Live. Thanks for posting!
Yes! Thanks for watching
Outstanding video Jim! This helps me a ton so that I can dial in my own settings now that I see which variables that I need to review. Hopefully in future videos, you can show how well these settings work when casting small lures out to 60 feet and how well the ML will track them back to the boat. Well done. HB should send you a check.
Thank you for the comment and watching. I will make that video. Subscribe and hit that bell so you will know when I post it
@@BigJimFishing I already subscribed and hit the bell weeks ago.
Yes would love to see some bait tracking videos with different size lures!
Very nice! I am getting better at it but not that good. I will try your settings soon. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Sir
Good work and great information.
Thanks for comment and watching
Great videos. I am dialed in too, turning down the contrast and turning up the sensitivity gives it more of a Garmin look. I have four Solix 12 Gen 3 in my boat. Love HB. I will say, my buddy’s Garmin can see small 3-4” drop shot baits 60 feet out, I can’t do that with Mega Live. I would love to see a Mega Live lure tracking video using a drop shot. I can see big crank baits on Mega Live pretty good.
Enjoy your channel Watched them a lot before ordering my 819 pro I’m expecting it at the end of July you’re Chanel helped me a lot
Awesome for you on your new boat! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Great video Jim, you got them birds dialed in.
P.S. got my 360 sharing issue fixed, had to individually restore factory defaults on each Solix unit then resync network. Can't wait to get out with 360 and Mega-Live
Good news. Thanks for watching
Nice video Jim. If I get paired with you, aim it towards the back for a couple times. 😁
👍🏻
Awesome footage! I’ve been watching your videos and it’s helped me out so much.. Thanks Jim awesome work bother🎣🎣🎣
Thank you Sir! Appreciate it.
Great info, thanks for posting. I just updated mine over the weekend, and haven't had a chance to get on the water yet. So far, with the muddy bottoms and hydrilla down here in Florida, the images on Mega Live haven't been too great. I hope I can clear it up a little with the new update.
Great video. Thank you
👍🏻
I have a mega live unit with helix 9 mainly use it to look for brush maybe the update can help to clear things up. Subscribing big dog keep the content up!
WOW! Thank you!
Thanks for watching
Hey Big Jim I love your Mega Live video. Are you going to do the upgrade to the 1.20? I had the 1.50 dialed in I wish I would of left it alone but I went ahead and upgraded to the 1.20 and now Im lost again. If you have done or plan on doing the upgrade I hope you do a video on it so you can get me back disled in . Thanks in advance keep the videos coming they are great !,
Thanks for watching!
First off, nice video to follow the earlier ones. I think it is great that all of the "live" sonar continues to get better! Competition is great for us the end users. Second, can you do a video showing range with various sized baits including down to an 1/8 or so. I would also like to see some footage of fish in brush. Does the new update allow you to see fish in the brush without blowing out the picture? Thanks for all of your great work so far!!!
My plan is to do that for future videos. Thank you for comment. Hit that bell so you know when they hit the street.
Nice work Jim. Thanks for your time spent demonstrating this. Can you show us how you set up for further distance? 80-100 ft?
We can add that to the series
Just bought a bass boat it was bare bones I was told humming bird was the system I should buy wow the cost of any of it so I wanta make sure it's the one for me you know big investment to rig a boat
Good video Jim, Liked and Subscribed brother!
Thank you
I totally agree with dynamic 2 been using it awhile... it truly shines on rock.. 60ft does good but you can go out more just play with sensitivity and contrast.. I have had some issues with the pitch and roll putting the view 90 degrees out ... I think you’re use to a helix more use your touch screen and touch top left to pull up menu and use your finger to swipe up scroll to not have to use the toggle .. I know I’ve give you a hard time lol but I’m retired and live overlooking Nickajack lake .. if you want to go fishing some time my name is John Bell I live in Jasper Tn
Can you show a picture or send your settings please. Great video and information
No sir, sold that boat last week
Good video! Was doubting for a garmin but now I see this its solix al the way, its overal a much better unit! Is it possible to make a video of the other perspectives? I'd like mine for pelagic fishing with the down view
Hay Jim could you talk about your sponsor? Love this just received my ml and I need video like this to teach me how this works
See video discription. Links are there
Good video but wish you would’ve shown how well lures show up
I’m saving that for another video
👍
Just got my 2023 921....all bird, little disappointed with live, my 919 had a garmin live scope. I was encouraged by dealer to go with bird fs..Im hoping your video will improve my opinion
Go back to Garmin
@@BigJimFishing is that what you are doing?
@@purewaterswva.5409 yes, new boat will have LVS34 Livescope plus. Build should be done mid Oct
Great video an I’m a hummingbird guy , however helix can’t get this picture like them solix can , the solix resolution is way better , so to speak get what we pay for. P.S however a great picture , I think hummingbird will have undates coming to be able to compete with them Garmans but I think it’s coming.
I agree
Did you have the transducer on front? Have you played with down and landscape?
Yes, no sir.
Hey Jim! I have the same solix set up. Where in the settings is the cone size selection?? Thanks!
Top of the screen
Do you have Helix models in regards to your pt. 5, start up settings? I was looking through my Helix manual, and is vague, and doesnt give direct start up parameters, like you did with your Solix, in Part 5. Are they basically the same? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do not have Mega Live anymore.
How deep is that garage holding that boat?
czcams.com/video/wAKwAZE4OuI/video.html
What size blocks do you use to keep the motor straight four or 5 inch.
So on f that's 40 degrees then each click is 10 degress?
Yes!
@Big Jim Fishing ok thanks.
How did you eliminate the random flash that is common on the Mega Live screen? I don’t notice it on yours like most others.
Proper wiring, power, adjustments, settings. It’s not just one thing, it’s a combo
The travel blocks you use to keep motor straight are they four or five inch blocks
4” I think. DD26 has new model dd26fishing.com/collections/transom-savers-steering-locks/products/hydraulic-steering-lock-interchangable-clips
What about seeing your lure? Are you able to do that?
I’m working on it. Family stuff has come up, haven’t been on the water
How do you get the grid to show on screen
Setting, can’t remember where. Just look around.
What Gn is your solix 12
2
Thats good for me to hear I have a 2 and was afraid I couldnt get as dialed in thinking that you must of had a 3. Now I know mine is also capable of getting the same results .
Thanks for the videos. Quick question. Just got my mega live. Got it all dialed in and details are pretty good. However now I can’t see my bait. Any suggestions on why maybe. When I first turned it on I could see it just fine. Now it just seemed to disappear. Any advice?
I’m working on that too
I saw it really well straight out of the box but now it’s gone. Lol
I do have a helix model. I see you use solix. Not sure if that matters.
@@donwestmoreland9556 I’ll do a video once I figure it out. Honestly, I have not tried since my first video on it. It’s hard to film. I need two hands for rod and reel.
How do you run your solix on 7??
turn the brightness down to 7 to save battery power. Hit the power button and a menu pops up.
Now what if I have a helix
Same value settings.
We don’t want to hear about garmen we bought humminbird
Yep
c'mon JIM, get your technical bass fishing terminology on track and don't make the same mistake as so many others: Structure refers to changes in the bottom contours....Cover refers to any objects ( rocks, stumps, brush, etc.) Brush up on your Buck Perry, the man who coined all of these phrases way back when.
You’re right, I slip up every few videos
Great help on setup Mega Live. Thanks!
your welcome
Great video! Thanks!
