most people online who have tried a Stanley cup (2.0)
for the first time say almost the same thing. they dont

Does the Stanley have a powder coating? I've had Yeti mugs for years and their powder coating has held up so well. I bought a Stanley tumbler (from Dicks) the other day and it looks like the color is just painted on. It this the way all of their tumblers are?

@@marypadron6186 thanks! I really like the look of the one I bought but I don't want the paint to chip off. I guess I'll have to exchange it for another one. I've had such good luck with the coating that the yetis have. I've had some tumblers for 6+ years and only now do I see the faintest scratch.

I like them both, I cant pick just one. The Stanley is easier to drink from the SM straw has a odd suction imo. Both leak if tipped on the side. Maybe my SM has a bad lid but it leaks just as much when tipped but like you said it doesn’t bother me but they keep marketing it as spill proof and it is not.
I think both of them will leak when tipped. I also don't like that either of them try to claim to be spill proof because that's impossible with an uncovered straw. Not sure what they are thinking because we have eyes ha ha.
Try inserting the straw from under the lid instead of through the top to help with the suction on the SM one. If that makes sense.
I love my simple modern and they don’t leak. The only leak I have would be if I tipped it on its side it’ll come out of the straw but not the cup. I have multiple simple, modern. I love them because they stay cold forever. And I have the large tumblers I don’t wanna carry around something that big with a handle and they come with both tops, a straw and a drink spout they give you two and then it comes with two straws. I love the colors I give them as gifts people love them, and they agree that they stay cold so long, I have two in the fridge at all times one with water and one with tea
The simply modern seems like the better of the two but when looking more into them 2 features that arent there on SM is you cant drink hot drinks with the straw and theres no extra hole to drink out of so its really only good for cold drinks

If you're looking for something that doesn't leak, I would recommend neither. They both will leak. And I don't know that it's feasible to drink from the Simply Modern without the straw very easily.
I have a Stanley. im always on the go with my kids in sports i hate my Stanley now it leaks so much. not only from the straw area which u would expect but the rim part the most. I need a good cup with straw with minor leak if tip over.
Does the SM lid fit on the Stanley cup? I have a Stanley cup and was going to order the SM lid from Amazon.
No they don''t fit each other unfortunately.
It seems Simple Modern beats Stanley in the "cold" tests but no one has done the "hot" test.
It appears the lid is better insulated on the Simple Modern vs the Stanley. The real test should have been done without a straw in each.
If keeping liquids cold then Simple Modern wins, but if you also need to consider the drop test, does it rust?, spill test, warranty, and clean test.

Glad you measured the ice but you didn't measure the water in the container. Should have been the same as more water means more melting.
Then you need to open the lid only once at 24+ hours and not a seconder sooner as that lets in heat which will skew the results...
Just my humble opinion to get an accurate result.
They are all supposed to be 40 oz so in theory they "should" be pretty close to the same amount of water. That doesn't mean that they actually are in reality lol. I def did not adhere to the scientific method with this one so take everything with a grain of salt. They are both great at keeping water cold so I don't think it really makes much difference either way.
@@SamisSweetLife You’re right, it basically doesn’t matter one little bit. It’s just 1 titre of water, so as long as the cup holds ice well for 6-12 hours, that’s more than enough time to finish drinking the contents and refill, considering people need 2-3 litres of water a day.
