      yeah. he really is on a roll right now. although i think 3 0 in this match doesnt really represent how close it was. it was a 3 0 in the end but especially second and third set could have just aswell gone the other way. some great rallies in there.

    To beat such a great player as Dang Qiu in 3 straight sets after lagging far behind in 2 sets shows how much Felix has improved since early 2023 and how outstanding he is. Besides he is not a finished product so I can't wait to see how far he will go in the future!

      @sebastienguerrero6323 Před 6 měsíci +4

      @@Tartarik51 He lost against him some weeks ago 3-2, not some months ago. Still, just losing one game doesn't mean he regressed, have a broad perspective, not just the last match against Ma Long in the semifinal of a WTT Champions! Don't you realize reaching the semifinal in the WTT champions shows how much he improved since January? Besides he showed mental toughness against Ovtcharov, Gauzy and Lee Sangsu (especially) who beat Fan Zhendong in the previous round by catching up each time and winning turnaround points. It shows once again that he improved as he kept his composure against very skilled and experienced opponents.

    Comparatively,Felix Lebrun has a much more aggressive recieve tactic and timing to Dang Qiu. Lebrun recieves closer over the table and prepares early with square on position, this optimises RPB . Dang Qiu adopts the more classic FH dominant Penhold step in from right hand side recieve. Statistically Lebrun wins more points on recieve by forcing server errors on the third ball. Personally I have tried playing Penhold, and the experience has taught me that the RPB can be really effective and disruptive to your opponent. The downside,which Felix Lebrun appears to have mastered is how to get the finger grip on the BH side balanced for stability and flexibility avoiding hand cramps .Playing Penhold is a real challenge on your finger mechanics, just notice how often Dang Qiu has to loosen and shake his hand between points and reset the grip.

    Dang has the better forehand, Felix the better backhand. Because of this it wasn't played clever by Dang. He always played the banana in Felix' bh and Felix had a direct answer on this. Dang should have played it short and concentrate on attacking with his fh, like he did mostly in the beginnend if a set. Nevertheless Felix played super and made nearly no mistakes.
