Hey Ross, just noticed that you hit 1M subscribers. CONGRATS brutha!!! you have provided so much content and have taught us so many lessons on youtube (at no fricken cost to us except time) that this milestone is VERY WELL EARNED. again, congrats!!! thanks for everything you do. happy holidays to you and your entire fam.
Haha its irrelevant that he has 1mil subscribers he’s already a multimillionaire
He has changed my life forever with this free content. you are highly appreciated Ross. Hope to meet you someday
Thank you! Appreciate the support!
@@DaytradeWarrior you're welcome King. Coming all the way from barbados. Can put it in your list for your next vacation.
Enjoyed the video Ross. Thanks for sharing. Blessings from Mexico.
Happy to help!
thank you for this video Ross.
Of course!
Thank you very much Ross, your info is very important as always.
Happy to help!
Thanks for the info Ross. I think creating tools to manage psychology is the most important part. To me, that's what this video is about.
Trading isnt just risky financially, it can create heart attacks, divorces, suicidal tendencies, etc.
My #1 goal is to have the least amount of screen time while reaching my daily goal, every day.
930-1000am is usually my best shot. I wish I could only trade for that 30 minute window, every day. I love the environment, the ability to get in and out, the number of opportunities.
Someday, I want to have a 2.5 hour work week, and love what I do, every minute that Im doing it. You've made me believe that its possible.
All important!
Ross, Thank you. Over the years your videos have kinda kept me in "check" ...ironically, after a few years of successful trading, I started to dabble in shorting. Honestly, it's not worth it, people always get in their heads "oh it must retrace 100%" but in my experiences, you rarely get huge pull backs unless you find a stock thats dumping but even then, it can be a hassle. I've heard from other traders similar experiences too.
Glad to hear it!
Great video Ross. Thanks.
Of course!
great episode ross. would love to see more driving with ross content.
Great, glad to hear it!
I like the way road reflects on Ross' sunglasses 😎. also Thank you Ross for explanation🙏. Always very informative💫
Thanks Marukas!!
good video mate appreciate your work
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks Ross!
You bet!
Totally agree with you Ross. Not sure that the averaging up shorting strategy works for me, but you’re right, everyone has a place in the mkt. Also, I too could do better with holding those winners longer. Twice on AMAM today I sold before a +20c pop! Thanks for the recap!! Love the drives with Ross!!!! 😅🤩👍🏼👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Love your strategy. It works great for me as a beginner trader. Thanks for your content
Great to hear!
Thank u Ross! I had my second best trading day wed, followed by my two worst days Thursday and Friday. I got rekt shorting today.
Ugh 2 steps fed 2 steps back, time to rebuild!
Thanks for that and that AMAM was a wild ride, I am only paper trading and I knew that stock was going to keep climbing. Ross thanks for the daily in site. I appreciate your work!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Great advice, May want to reposition the Cam though, that sun🌞was annoying. 😂 Thx as always Ross.
Good call
Ha! It's like your speaking to me directly. I've had mixed success buying puts on stocks that pop insanely high waiting for them to dump. Mostly Bio's. Some drop, some linger just outside of my strike for weeks. Also TSLA...shorting it works until it's decided it's going to moon again. I'm reworking my strat so I'm focusing mostly on SPY and only buying calls when there is strength. Looking over last year, puts weren't worth it. My 2023 goal is to be a slightly better trader than last year. Love the videos!
Thank you!
Thank you
You bet!
Shorting works better on confirmation of lower highs and lower lows. Especially in a ranging market. Lately, with the big pullbacks, shorting works great. Adding to parabolic stocks is nuts!
Right!!
Nice Ross, thanks .I love short selling. You just need to manage your risk .
Very true!
Thanks Ross
You bet!
That stock ran so fast I was going to close a short and missed it. Stock shot up was halted reopen shot up again crushed me. I procrastinated twice before that to cover and go long. Thank God it was my paper trading account 🙏. Two lessons I learned about shorting and listening to your gut. Have patience but be quick to the draw when day trading. Thanks for all your info Ross!!!
Happy to help!
Thank you Ross! I appreciate you your thoughts on shorting. I’ll admit I am guilty of shorting the fore mentioned stock from 4.10 down to 3.01. It certainly could have gone against me, but that’s why I used small size. I sell the ask immediately if a short goes against me. I would also recommend against shorting with a broker that does not offer direct market access. Protect your account.
Of course, happy to share.
Being a futures trader I'm glad these are things I don't have to worry about slippage and that sort of things. Futures is so liquid long short doesn't matter it's all that same.
There's advantages to every niche!
This good i can listen wthout watching
Thanks for watching!
Did I get the title "Driving with Ross" right? LOL. Good country views as well thru rooftop. Has anyone ever told you one reason for your success is your voice? Such a pleasant voice!
Thank you!!
Thanks Ross for the video! I saw AMAM at .70 and never took it. Sadness... LOVE YOU MAN!!!
I didn’t make a ton on it either it’s okay
Good info
Glad it was helpful!
one thing i struggle with is knowing when to cut the loss for a loser because the trade isn't working out versus holding it because it still needs space to workout
That is harder on reversal setups since the more it goes the better it looks for a reversal. On trend trading, buying closest to trend support is going to give tightest stop but also less confirmation vs buying breakouts
great info, careful not to get ticketed or reported for distracted driving
Thank you!

Shorts will definitely be careful after this... Monday is game time!!
We'll see!
Exactly I love short sellers. They have accounted for a lot of the best setups we have seen lately
👍🤓
TeXtMe DiReCtLy 📊📊
when it comes to stocks i'd rather just wait for good setups to go long, but for example if you are trading indices like Dow, Nasdaq, DAX then going short i feel is at least as viable of a strategy as long, like you need to recognize both patterns.
👍
Great video on mindset. Thanks Ross! I liked the part on accuracy. Good accuracy but not cutting losses quick can also be a detriment.
Glad you enjoyed!
Ironically, I was on this chapter of short and long trade in your course when you make this video lol
Love it ;)
On vaca, Aloha Ross, appreciate you!
Hi!!
I bought at a perfect entry today but these halts in a cold market shake me out hard :/
You aren't the only one. The last stock I can remember that went nuclear without no halts is PHUN when Donald Trump announced he'd make his own social network platform.
It can be tricky, stick with it.
@@DaytradeWarrior still green big time yesterday ☺️ have a great weekend!
Im a short seller but I go both ways. If im shorting and a stock turns I usually cut my loss and buy. I was on a short friday (PHVS) and lost 12 grand but i turned it around and ended the day 2k positive. Yes I wish I would have bought to begin with, it would have been a great day, BUT i say the same thing all the time when I buy and I should have shorted. I finished my week over 26K so i dont complain. i just roll with the flow and get profits both directiosn whenever possible. The best advice is never be afraid to cut your losses even when it gets bad. theres always another stock and or another day. Just shake it off and move on.
Well done!!
Do you use leverage?
@@Tobi21089 from time to time
I have to definitely work on pulling the trigger and trusting my self i always watch the trade do what i expect it to and never get in out of fear but im still learning and new to this. If i take a loss and if i learned something from it i dont consider it a loss i just paid 4 a lesson
I hear you 100%
I love that sentence "not a loss I just paid for a lesson " !!
I noticed some heckler shorts on webull are experts at picking out weaknesses in popular stocks, not where its short and distort but very fine line.
A lot of heckling shorters on electric car companies which are at .20 cents, which I think is insanity.
Thanks for sharing
What brand are your sunglasses? What model? They’re cool
Love to hear it!
Short selling can be extremely risky if you're trying to short the front side of the move. Very profitable if you can manage risk very carefully and not short the front side.
Thanks for the thoughts!
Nice panoramic sunroof. I don't mean to be nosy, but what type of car is it Ross? Nice video.
It’s a Range Rover, I love it. I bought it new and it has 80k miles now
It's a volvo 🙂
Hi Ross. Id like to purchase your course . But i like fundamental analysis more. What do you recommend. Sorry about my english
I do have a chapter on fundamental analysis, but to what extent are you using fundamental analysis for day trading?
Yeah, I got burned on a small Short on AMAN . Tried getting short when it was already coming back down in the 4's and 3's but couldn't get shares to borrow. Finally got just 50 shares short @ 2.55 ( thank god in hindsight). Kept falling to 2.16 and I thought great it's working ! Not so fast reversed higher and halted about 40 times up & down! I thought I was good cause it had already come down almost $2 / share. I had a mental stop at 3.50 but I was reluctant and thought it would go back down, but it kept rallying towards the end of the reg session. My gut said it would come down after hours, but who knows it could have blasted of with no halts. So I covered at 4.39 . Lost $92 only but it was like a 53% loss .. eek . I know small size but I'm glad I learned the lesson on small size rather than getting blown up. 😅 Embarrassing I didn't make money on a stock up 1000% .. ! I am usually long biased but it hasn't worked great this year so I've been trying out the short strategy with some success. Thanks for your videos Ross ! I'm a big fan and have learned alot from your videos throughout the years. Still think I had the right idea with unpredictable price action .. Next time I'll think twice about "easy short" when i see a small cap up 550% on the day .. or better yet go long way earlier ! I will live to trade another day !
Tough one to trade for sure.
HOw do you get the tip on these runners? Still learning how to use a screener. Is there alerts on the screeners that alert you of a stock that is getting volume?
My scanners search in real time for stocks moving up with volume. I then look for first pullback entries.
Yeah great explanation thank you again. But, looking at short interest ratios on AMAM, I noticed that it wasn't so high as well as share avalaibility to borrow and borrow cost. Even as we can see on the graphs that price did nothing eles but going down since the very begining. So what about those informations about short they give us ?

Fantastic!’
AMAM was definitly a wild runner Friday! Wonder how Mon will be!
Sure was!

Hey Ross, I have an idea but I don't even know if it's possible. Would it be possible for your software developers to divide the volume bars horizontally into both red and green so we could get a better understanding of the market sentiment and whichever volume is leading go on top of the other?
So the idea there is to look at volume on bid vs ask. I like the idea. There may be an indicator that already does it. I’ll check
Ross i have look into quite a lot of brokers but they do not offer shorting, may I know which broker would allow it. thank you
You can check out some brokers here: support.warriortrading.com/support/solutions/articles/19000045045-broker-recommendations-us-international
Really makes sense.. I’m happy the one member in our community was about to get out when they did. Yikes. (Car sounds good hah)
Thanks!!
Whats worse? Averaging up or averaging down?
I think they’re both equally risky, but an experience Trader could find reasons to do either depending on their strategy
Mmtlp is great example of shorting has infinite risk. FINRA had to do a u3 hault to protect their hedge friends. Be interesting how this plays out.
Thanks for watching!

Dollar cost averaging, selling into strength works so well, until it doesn't, and it wipes out your account. Ask me how I know. You're exactly right!
How you know? 👀
Have to be careful for sure
Isn’t adding on a short the same as buying and average on dips?
Dip should be based on support
That’s why I love buying puts rather than shorting on stocks with good liquidity that are option-able. 🙂 defined risk, high upside, limited downside.
That makes sense 100%, it’s a bummer most small caps don’t have options
@@DaytradeWarrior yeah, it’s not possible for many of the securities that I see you trade. Fortunately we’ve had so many large caps with poor business models or projections that the environment has been target rich for optionable trades to the short side: $ROKU, PTON, CVNA, RIVN, LCID, etc
@@DaytradeWarrior thanks so much for the content! I love hearing your thoughts.
It works tell it doesn’t - so true -

Short with puts on mid and large caps ! You only risk the premium
That's one way to do it.
I love the ride with Ross episodes

Thanks for the video Ross!
Started trading last August and have been on the losing side for the last 4 months and already lost the majority of my small account.
Not sure how to continue from this. Can you make a video about what you have gone through when you started?
Yep I can do a video on that
Averaging up (short) or down is never a good idea when day trading imo
To each their own
Going short is the reason I just bought a 765LT. 🤣
congrats!
Bad day for short sellers
Natural ebb and flow!
Is that a minivan, Ross?
It’s a Range Rover
It works both ways, if you were long at 10.45am when it halted down more than a dollar you wouldn’t be in great shape…there’s no right and wrong with going long or short, been on the right side of the trade is all that really matters?
That’s true for sure, and following rules re stops
Can we make a maccas run??
What's that?!
What about MMTLP that got shorted millions of naked shares that FINRA screwed over.
Typical
So now the question is. Can AMAM hold that level? My guess is no.
However I will watch momentum to give me a signal.
It was really strong. It could be a stock in play for a few days.
We'll see!
Mmtlp short’s trap of the century. (Halted since Friday morning) I never short. I don’t have the balls to do it. Congratulations on 1M subscribers 🎉
its so unfair that they get to have it haulted and not have to pay the piper??? What a sick sad state the market is in
All about sticking to what works for you.
I have the habit of carrying bags. I must eliminate these practices before I start calling myself a Day Trader. Mmtlp halt is an eye-opening event.
Ross is right. Get in and get out as fast as you can. We are dealing with mouse traps, and the fastest gets the cheese:)
Also known as martingale strategy. It’s a sure losing strategy long term. 1/99 trades loses everything.
Yep

Right on!
No Doubt !! AMAM almost smoked me yesterday. Had to be super patient and manage the trade. I ended up making a small profit, but learned a very valuable lesson. Another great post Ross
Thanks Shawn
The only time I short (or profit from stocks going down) is when I'm buying puts or selling covered calls.
👍
Like Michael Burry : )
A little
I buy stocks like TSLA, GOOG, AMZN and others on green days when they are going up. I sell after I make an undetermined amount of profit. Google and Amazon haven't been working out so well lately. I used to use NVDA quite often. I probably on average held the stock 30 minutes. If it went red on me then I held it until it got back to the price I purchased at or a little above and then I dumped them. Call me crazy but it seems to work. I would rather buy stocks that have decent fundamentals in case I get stuck with a red day or a red week. Thanks for all the great information
Nice! All about finding what works best for you.
Who would short a 50 cent stock?
Ross primarily focuses on the long side.
They short anything that moves. Very difficult for longs.
Both sides have been challenging
@@DaytradeWarrior I wasn't in the trade. I saw so much selling that I knew it was being shorted and that made me fearful. Short selling is so bold now that I find myself sitting on the sidelines. I think short sellers are doing way better than longs, but maybe that is my inexperience. I agree there is a place for all. I think when the market picks back up there will be a lot of short squeezes, because so many short sellers may have to learn a new way. I would love to see a video on how longs can maneuver in a short market.
P.S more $ROSS today = 🎉 !

Blew up my account as a short biased trader and have to reload account. I have been around for many months and now we all got caught. Market heated up out of nowhere and most of my buddies are screwed at this point. Very sad week for us and the time has come for longs to take everything we worked for for months. It’s insane in just one week I gave back all my gains for 1 year and half. Might give up on trading for a while and try to get myself together. It all started with $PALI a week or so ago and I knew something was changing. January effect is coming in like a freight train. Life was good and now I literally have to go back to working a 9-5. Im out guys and prolly won’t be back after this 3rd account blow up. I guess now I won’t buy that nice house for my family and give my kids a better lifestyle because of my own ego and greed. Sorry. Have you taken his course? It’s really worth the money.
Read Mark Douglas or watch some of the videos where he's leading seminars, if you haven't. They will change the way you think.
Sorry to hear that, stick with it.
The only stories about massive losses going short were on penny stocks. Seems like if the stock is over $50 short is fairly safe.
Idk
People make millions shorting..adding and guessing the top isn’t a strategy. Great video though.
All about finding what works best for you!
Wrecked? Look at the manipulation in MMTLP. Shorts should be destroyed and they cried so much that Finra halted it. They knew they had to close out positions and shorted till the last min.
Enjoy your videos,TY
Good point
Hi Ross ,
Averaging up short strategy is a bad strategy . There are other strategies better exactly the way breakout long traders are . I shorted AMAM twice today . Both times with profits .

I tried day trading 4 times between 2020 and 2022 with $2000 each time.(long strategy, real money). I have lost ALL 4 times my whole account. It's a hard art to master. Entry, exits, take profits, handle losses, U need to be good at too many things to succeed. I gave up day trading.
Sorry to hear that, day trading isn't for everyone.
