To all of you still in high school and middle school who are confused as shit and are struggling your way through school like I did: everything is going to be okay. Not knowing or understanding something doesn’t make you dumb. School is often times a game of memorizing more than actual learning which is really unfortunate. If you feel like something is wrong with you because everyone around you seems to be doing better than you are I promise it’ll be okay. I was never a very good student. Until senior year of high school I struggled to pass every class due to my untreated and (at the time) undiagnosed ADHD as well as dealing with anxiety and depression. My mother always told me I would never get into college and I would never amount to anything but here I am sitting in my dorm room writing this. Don’t give up because you or someone else believes you can’t do it. I believe you can. How smart you are should not be determined by your grades. What matters is that you try your best and you find a passion to motivate you through all of this. If you can make it through these hellish school years, you can make it through anything.
