Prepping My $2000 Nissan Patrol For a DIY Respray

- So after a long wait, my new TB42 GQ is finally back on the channel. This episode we're prepping it for a home paint job in Audi Nardo Grey - sanding, stripping, filling, bogging and priming. In typical Black Stump fashion, its a bit half-arsed and the result is questionable, but at least we had fun.
A backyard respray is a bloody big job. If you can pull it off however you have acquired yourself a super power.
This was actually a really informative vid. Definitely learnt how not to spray paint a car
Bro I did the same thing with my car I did Nardo grey on my GQ with gloss black accents and it turned out mint man so worth it

I love the Patrol Y60 i have one too.
In germany they are very expensive when you want some with a little bit of rust.

@@DangerousDibs i payed 4000 Euros for my Y60 without big wheels and bumpers.
But with rust at the front and rear fenders and jacks.
The Y60 had a 2.8TD its hard to became a 4.2TD in germany , only one for sale her for 16000 Euros.
They cost a similar amount over here. You get the odd bargain likw the boys have here but thwy hold value really well becausw of the solid axle fronts and a few other features.

Good effort, bit late now but you should have raptor lined it, I did a who slwb hiace in a day from tape up, sand and spray, came up mint 👌

Haha the good ole DIY re-spray Chestnut ay.... its a fkn great idea until you get a few hours in.... you guys broke pretty much every rule doing it, but you learnt fast and had a go... it’ll come out sweet for a budget rig thats no doubt going to get a ton of bush pinstripes anyway.... shoulda painted it in Raptor liner and spray Nardo over the top ;)

That was painful I would like to know which video you watched on how to paint a car because that’s definitely not the way but it’s a bush pig so just send it if all fails raptor line the thing n be done

Nah I’ve already given the lights to a mate. Firstly I need to actually take it 4wding and see what it needs, but first mods will probably be a LOKKA in the rear and a roll bar in the cab.

channels like this are great. so many people think that you need $483,9430,039 to restore/repair a 4wd/car. if your happy to put the effort in, the results can be nice. OK, agree panel shops will do a much much better job but when your payin 5-10 grand Minimum...youd hope they would.
For a couple of young bloke, having a go, heading up bush, im sure this will look tidy fellas.

Yes and no, if it was a daily or tourer I would’ve fixed it properly, but considering the cab is gonna get bashed up anyway I’m not too concerned

What size suspension and tyres have you got?
Tyres are 315/75r16, I haven’t measured the hub to guard to know exactly how much lift but it’s around 3 inch
