- Bit of a genre change here! This is a Neapolitan song written by S. Cardillo in 1911 and one of my favorites to sing. Normally this would be done with a pianist accompanying me but I thought I'd take a shot at doing a little acoustic arrangement for y'all. I would recommend listening to Giuseppe Di Stefano's version cause that's my fav. Anyways, hope I did it some justice!
A lovely, clear and expressive voice! Excellent diction, excellent performance.
Beautiful singing, especially with the guitar, clear tone throughout the your scale. This is so much more beautiful with a simple instrument. I hadn't been aware of it until today and the recordings with orchestra by famous singers are too overly dramatic. And, yes, I'm a singer. Keep singing!
😄Tony Soprano sent me here . Are there any legionnaire left in Italy ?
Excellent work. I agree that Di Stefano's interpretation of this standard is one of the best.
Wonderful, simply beautiful!
great interpretation! thanks
Desde Chile:
Una interpretación magistral !. Mil Felicitaciones.!. Estimado amigo, algún día todo Chile lo espera en nuestro Festival Internacional de Viña del Mar.
Viejitas y bonitas, con mucho amorrrr ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
absolutely beautiful. I get tearful everytime I listen to this.
Bravo!!! I teared up for that one.
Absolutely beautiful, fair play 👌
That was stunning. The sensitivity: the feeling that the singer is feeling something and not just blasting out the notes. There are many "big name" operatic tenors who make a complete mess of this. They make a glorious noise, but it's just Radames on a particularly bad-tempered day: it doesn't relate to the words or the music. As a previous commentator said: Wow!
I take my hat off to you and hope you keep on doing this.
Edit: hadn't read the comment about Giuseppe di Stefano before I wrote this, but couldn't agree more: he floats the high notes and caresses the melody and just lives the song. Definitely not one of the "big name" operatic tenors who got it wrong.
Fabulous.
Beautiful lyric tenor plus heartfelt delivery on this beauty. The simplicity of the guitar accompaniment
coupled with such warm phrasing is a treat. A special voice worthy of more exposure. Thank you, Alex.
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words! 😁
This is precious. Thank you.
Excellent.
I LOVED it!!!!!!!!
Thats beautiful. Really. Well done.
My favourite version of this song. So beautiful sounding. Thank you!
Grazie fron sud Brazile. Strucon.
wow !!! this is so beautiful!!!
You have a superb voice. This is really wonderful. My father was an exceptional neapolitan tenor so the following comment is offered with both love and a certain experience. The final 'e' of words in the neapolitan dialect should not be pronounced as the 'e' in 'get' (like in regular italian) but as the 'e'-sound in 'the' (not as in 'thee' as 'the' is sometimes pronounced!). You even have the vibrato. Your voice is incredible. If you sang this with all the final 'e's in the neapolitan accent it would be a masterpiece! I hope this is taken in the spirit of admiration in which it was intended 💓
Thanks for your comment! Ahhh I see, I knew the Neapolitan dialect has slight variations but in the end I sang it the way I had heard it from recordings. Is there a recording you’d suggest to get a better idea of the accent? Appreciate your compliments!
@@alexamatomusic8857 I'm so pleased you took my comments as intended! You can do no better than listen to Enrico Caruso's version of Core 'ngrato. Note also that the 'o' of " 'ngrato' " is also pronounced the same way as the 'e' in 'the' as above. I feel moved to say again that your rendition is exceptional regardless of the pronunciation matters. The pacing and emotion is conveyed so beautifully. Outstanding, truly.
Wonderful!
Bellissima! You nailed the B flat! Loved your performance.

Here I’m doing the song in E flat, so it’s just up 3 frets :) in other words Eb, Ab, Bb and G minor and C minor
I came here for the sopranos
