This is how to get new #rosin on your #violin bow when it just doesn't seem to be going on. It is quite common for cheap rosin to be so hard that it just won't rub on to your cheap bow.
I'm a beginner trying to teach myself (I get it. THE WORST way to do it. But the second worst way is to NEVER learn and these are my options). I thought my rosin was bad! It's all hard and brittle. So i bought a NEW one from Amazon that has 9,000 reviews and five stars. AND THAT is hard and brittle. No stickiness on my fingers, whether warmed by my hands or not. I watched a different video and it said to file the rosin, but it did NOT say to leave the powder on the rosin, (Is that right? I leave the powder on, right? PLEASE tell me if I've got it wrong!!!), and now after manhandling the rosin and powder, my fingers are sticky!! Like ROsin is!! So i'm optimistic that i"m closer to what it's supposed to be. But if I'm wrong, please please please correct me!!!
@@cludy7826 Use a quarter to gently scratch the surface. Or, in a pinch, use the metal piece that you normally use to tighten the bow with to gently scratch the surface. Be very gentle and do not use too much pressure or you may chip the rosin.
Thank you! So easy. I was ready to toss the bow!
Thanks for this!
Awesome. Thank you. Cannot wait to use my new bow on some exotic stringed instruments in my collection.
Bow it on a gong or hi-hat object on a drum. Makes a thunder sound sometimes. Really cool!
thank you
Fantastico, Sir
Wow, you're a genius
Awesome very notable technique greetings from Bangladesh 😊❤🎉 🙏
Can we use the bow to play the violin instantly?
My bow was just short of 100 years old and I rehaird it. I wasn't certain the hair was real because it was purchased on line.
