    Regarding tweaking the flight characteristics to get closer to realistic you can also increase the physics above 100%. Like 125%. I do this with a 100cc plane to get the response closer to my 67" 260

    I am bound to Aerofly RC because it supports VR, which is highly recommendable if you are willing to spend the money on it. I use an RTX3080 and wifi 6 router with Steam vr. solid 120 fps. I guess a RTS 2080 will also do the trick. Basically you can tie any Transmitter to the application if the receiver supports USB mode. I do this via a betaflight FC, but there are many options.

    Thanks for the detailed info and your preferred model on RF EVO. I was thinking my setup on my plane was not right but your explanation helps me understand why I can't torque roll all day long like I can in Evolution. Or even mildly as well... :-) Thanks!

      @skyboundrc  Před 7 měsíci

      I'm glad the video was helpful. If you're able to torque roll all day long in Evolution, you're probably not very far from doing the same in real life! Good luck!

    Hey Juan, thank you for your great videos, keep it up!!!
    In my case, I am still using my old RF G3.5 version and I think is the closest one to the real thing! I trasitioned from G3.5 to G4 once, and there was a huge change in physics , the airplane felt more stable and floaty. With the G3.5 you will struggle more to be proficient at certain manouvers and it will help you a lot with the real world. The airplane I am using is the yak 54 3D. The others in KF swap pages feel very unrealistic to me

    Hola una ves más amigo 😊.
    La verdad es que me parecieron bien interesantes los consejos sobre todo que esperar y que priorizar en el simulador para con luego la vida real.
    Debo darte toda la razón sobre dividir la práctica en varias sesiones de corta duración pues sin darme cuenta luego de cambiar mi radio pues adopté este estilo e increíblemente luego de 2 sesiones logré pasar de no hacer el rolling Harrier a poder hacerlo 😅.
    Por otra parte encontré interesante también la forma en que clasificaste las distintas maniobras (admitió que no comprendí mucho esa parte pues al mi idioma ser español la traducción es complicada pero no imposible)
    Añadir que hace poco más de un años practicaba en el real Flight 7.5 y luego que un amigo me invitó a practicar en el Phoenix, debo admitir que a mí parecer este último tenía mejores gráficos que el real Flight.
    Actualmente estoy practicando en uno muy básico y antiguo (aerofly 1.0.8) y pasé de hace muy bien en el real Flight 7.5 maniobras como hover a lograr hacerlas a duras penas en este nuevo simulador, me exige muchísimo más dominio del acelerador 😅, en conclusión es que a pesar de que sus gráficos son muy malos respecto a los simuladores que mencionaste, pues no me disgusta practicar en el pues me exige más control sobre todo del acelerador y gracias a esto creo que estoy un paso más próximo a ir mejorando mi nível en el vuelo 3D ya que el acelerador es fundamental para el mismo.
    Consejo para todos los que decidan tomar es que da igual el simulador que tengas practicar en el si va ha hacer la diferencia en tu aprendizaje, solo es cuestión de practicar y instruirse muy bien y esto último es muy fácil gracias a vídeos como este.
    Saludos desde Cuba 🇨🇺

      Hi! I use the Interlink X and works great for me. I've also tried connecting my Spektrum or FrSky actual receiver, but I prefer using the Interlink as I don't have to worry about battery or potentially dropping my transmitter from the desk

      @skyboundrc  Před 10 měsíci +1

      hey Simon, thanks for the suggestion! I just tried Tanner's NG and looks promising. The effects of airspeed in the roll rate feel much more realistic in Tanner's than Caua's. I will keep testing it more for a bit :-)

      How does it compare to Jase's models?

    • @skyboundrc
      @skyboundrc  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The NG is pretty different from Jase's model. When I tried Jase's edit, it felt completely different from what I'm used to with the real planes (specially regarding pitch authority), so I personally didn't really like it, but it clearly has been working out for Jase, so there's clearly a big part of personal preference in there :-)

    The biggest limitation I find is getting good authentic snaps when I am practicing my imac. It doesn't simulate the inertia very well.

    • @skyboundrc
      @skyboundrc  Před 6 měsíci +1

      agreed, maneuvers with inertia are not quite right. Good enough to learn the basic movements, but definitely need to make some adjustments when using the actual plane

    Thank you for the very good video. I have a question, though. I have a new computer with Windows 11 in it. I cannot get it to run RF 9.5S in it (and AFAIK, the only version available now is the one running on the Steam platform). I get a desert flying field, with a Habu sitting on the runway. There is nothing I can do to get it past this stage. Asked Horizon Hobby Support, and after a lot of back and forth, they confessed that their old engine DirectX 9 is not compatible with Windows 11. I concluded that RF 9.5S would never run on my computer since HH is not prepared to make the investment to update the simulator. My question is: Do you have a trick to make it possible to run RF in a Windows 11-powered computer? Thank you!!!

    • @skyboundrc
      @skyboundrc  Před 10 měsíci

It all results in the same: It is not going to work with Windows 11 because it is incompatible with DirectX 9. As you said: very frustrating! I tried getting somebody with authority at HH to come forward and give me a straight answer/solution and... you guessed it: crickets!!!

      Hi! I believe that you need to create an account (this is free) in that swap pages website and ensure you're logged in. Once you click download, it should either ask you to select a destination in your computer or automatically download it into your downloads folder. If that's not happening, your browser might be blocking the download for some reason...
