Djent Lesson 5: Rhythmic Displacement, Polyrhythms and Syncopation

- After a year long hiatus from this series I'm back with probably the best lesson I've made so far. This one deals directly with the rhythmic elements that you hear in Djent music (progressive metal.) I have no problem using that term as a genre because it serves as an umbrella for the more modern side of progressive metal, not the stuff that sings about fairies and dragons. JUST REMEMBER: awkward head movements R IMPORTANTE! I hope you enjoy this video. Thanks for checking it out!

Your kind words mean a lot! I appreciate you. I’ve got another video on scales coming out in the next couple of weeks, I think it’s going to help a lot of players out. Take care!
@@DrewCreal looking forward!
I think it's criminal that your channel isn't more popular. Thanks for the great content!

Thanks for stopping by, I'm glad you found this helpful. Take care and have an awesome day!
This was sick! I don’t even play guitar but I appreciated learning more about this style of playing.
Dude! You are making some killer content. I loved where you took this in the end example. I can't wait to see Djent 6.0!
Thanks so much, I think we are going to get into tuplets and nested tuplets in the next one...if I can figure out how they work and listen to enough Car Bomb 💣 lol
COOOOOOOOOOOOL
Something im really confused by is the fact that you said you play 5 notes at 17:30, but when i research the herta online i keep seeing a 4 note rythm just the 2 16th and the 2 8ths. I seems like you are playing 2 16th 2 8th and that another note. (total beginner here for rythms just couldnt wrap my head around this part of the video)
Anyways love the video i hope you can anwser my question :)
You're right, a herta is 4 notes, I mis-spoke in the video, thanks for your comment!
@@DrewCreal it wasn't to correct you just for myself that I'm doing it correctly ;)
@@NatteBadMuts you are always welcome to correct me if you hear something was off 🤘
Thank u for doin this...but too much talk...n stick to coverin Meshuggah....cuz nothin else comes even a billion miles to them..rest are...well...no comments.....
I’m not sure cover videos are the best way to grow an audience in 2024, I could be wrong though. Have you seen my cover of Abysmal Eye yet?
