Movin' On
There is a voice that has no name.
It comes with evening or behind the rain.
I have no time now to stop and explain.
I just keep movin’ cause it helps to ease the pain.
The night has music that calls to me.
Across the canyons of an endless sea.
I seek the shadows of yesterday.
Oh,Today can’t hold me, and I must be on my way.
Speak to me softly but tell me no lies.
I see tomorrow shining in your eyes.
I have no time now to stop and explain.
I just keep movin’ cause it helps to ease the pain. - Hudba
i was part of the Ohio youth choir in elementary school back in 1970. i fell in love this song. 52 years later and it still resonate in my soul.
I think about this song often when I have a major life change in the past six years when I become a widow. The lyrics resenate with me forty four years ago. When I sang this song my senior year in choir at Rio Mesa High School,in Oxnard, California. I find comfort in choir music. Thank you for this beautiful recording.
I, too, sang this in my high school choir. Thought it was so beautiful back then. 😍 Haven’t thought about it in years but just now, dealing with a major challenge in my life, the lyrics popped into my head so I did a search….it’s just as beautiful as I remembered…and the lyrics are even more meaningful now. 😢❤
We sang this piece in high school. It meant so much to us, we got permission to sing it at my high school graduation. It's so nice to hear it again.
Sang it at my sister's graduation and my own two years later. Still moves me.
I find it a little fast. It is meant to be a song of the soul not a romp, but it is still beautiful
I have loved this since singing it in choir at Alderwood Junior High, 8th & 9th grade 1977-1979! Been waiting FOREVER for someone to record it. Still have my sheet music. ;)
please send a copy of the music to...... :)
We sang this after every concert at Shaker Hts High School. A group of select members called the "Chanticleers" ended each concert with this. I have looked for it for years.
same here :) In 1990-1991 I was lucky to attend Newton High School in New Jersey as a foreign student for one school-year and the choir there led by Mr Scott had this encaptivating masterpiece on the bill... Been looking for it ever since.
finally found this song again after 20 years, got it off from a missionmate back in the day.
We performed this for Richmond Senior High School's 1979 graduation ceremony. I graduated that year so this was special to my class. As a member of the choral group, we must have practiced this for months. I do not recall it being anywhere near this fast but a lot of groups seemingly prefer it performed this way.
I was in 4H choir one summer around 5th, 6th grade, and we sang this song. It's haunted me since then, absolutely love it. This is too fast, though, like others have said. I can still play the piano accompaniment mostly, though I don't think I have the sheet music anymore.
Great Piece.
Actually we are performing this next Friday for our school's graduation award ceremony. we are doing a few things differently but this version is beautiful.
We sang this in my high school choir. I was like, "I'll use these lyrics immediately after graduation. 'I have no time now, to stop and explain...' " Not that I had anywhere of significance to go or was in a rush. Just sounded like a cool thing to say.
I have to sing this at school XD
I'm going to sing this at school
I just- really love this song, the speed really doesn’t matter to me and I love the visualization it provides
