Masterclass in subtle acting, the way his eyes change before he warns Tony.
The way Blundetto delivers that “You’re crowding me” line, with the dead man eyes. Fearless. He could’ve been a useful asset, but Tony was trying to keep him a civilian harder than Blundetto wanted to stay one. And then, when he went free agent, Tony bore a measure of the responsibility. It was Tony B that said no, and walked away from an immediate fast-track to the top table.

Tony S is right, he’s the boss of the family and as such needs to be shown respect. Tony B is also disrespecting Tony S in front of the whole crew, which can’t be allowed to fly. Can’t lead a crime family and look weak.
And it’s not just a popularity contest he’d be losing, or a minor demotion, but if he looks weak in front of the others then it means Tony S’s life, as others might make a move to take over. Weak leaders are eliminated.
Tony S, also handled the situation right by calling Tony B. out back. "Praise in public, but scold in private." Leadership 101.

A solid lesson on Stillness. All of it is in his locked eyes and slight movement of his jaw. No looking around before he delivered the line, not making a face, mo putting on an attitude. That stillness is POWER and it translates to the character so well.

I like how the show gave us subtle hints into Blundettos true nature. His joyful nature is gone instantly and he gives Tony that cold stare while Tony backs off with a slight hint of fear and nervousness in his face.

@@SarazoulSteve's character was lowkey testing Tony's to see what he could actually get away with. Then eventually took it out on that Asian dude
Tony wasn’t afraid at all. That’s not why he gave that look and backed off at the end. Rather, he realized that he just got into his cousin, like he wasn’t his cousin. Tony went to f**k you mode, to a man he loved dearly and felt guilt towards, because Blundetto got busted, and Tony didn’t…
So when Animal agrees, “got it”, Tony immediately deactivates the fuse, and backs off. When he quickly gets what he wants, Tony usually backs off and even gets a little coy. “Well… just make sure you _____” He’s done that throughout the entire series.
But yeah, he probably saw that Blundetto wasn’t afraid… But Tony’s always known that Blundetto is a cold blooded killer to the core. He obviously respected Animal and admired him with high regards.
He wanted Tony to be in his crew more than anyone. Immediately. He told Melfi Animal was smarter than both of them.
I feel like Tony Blundetto would have made a better boss than T.Soprano if he didn't go to prison and T.S did
Yeah, actually. He much colder. But still Tony S is much more ruthless. If you combine Tony S ruthlessness with Tony B intelligence that's a perfect boss.
I don't think so. Tony B was an impulsive cluts. He never even showed his intelligence in the show. Tony Soprano was far more strategic and better suited for the position he just had an anger problem.

Those eye blinks after the big stare down.
In my mind, Tony's asking himself, do I have to clip you are are we good...
@@psychologicalsigma9917 I don't read it quite that way. Tony S. tells Tony B. who's boss, and he is totally thrown by the latter's absolute lack of fear. Tony S. loses the staredown because Tony B. is fundamentally a stronger person than he is. The blinking is Tony S. struggling to process this. But he very quickly gets to the question you raised, because a (in)subordinate who is mentally tougher than you are is not sustainable...
@@JohnSmith-oe5kx lol we just said the same thing. You just explained WHY tony may have to murder tony b.
Either way, great scene.
He literally took EVERYTHING personal. Sheesh!!
Some people just need to keep their mouths shut lmao
Gotta love the Details, Chris's reaction of concern is awesome
I always loved Tony B's character. Ruthless. Whenever it came to anything at all, he was always in control, always very dominant. It was interesting seeing him put Tony, the boss, in his place and forcing him to bend the rules for him.
"don't call me fat" - Tony & Eric cartman
DONNY, YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR ELEMENT
It’s like when a pitbull is all smiling and happy, tail wagging, your best pal as you walk along.
And then that smile of his drops. And so does everyone’s stomachs.
"You're crowding me."
Is a pretty cold line.
what does that mean
@@christopherk10 back off
Yeah then he got shot and killed
@@charlies8282 maybe another fat joke
My estimation of Tony Soprano as a man after not getting on that massage table, just fucking plummeted.
Every once and a while Tony would say or do something junior like that would remind the audiences. Just how complicated the Soprano blood related family members truly were.
The way Tony's eyes flicker at the end, thinking, shit he ain't scared of me
“Aye T you gotta try this”
“He’s really f***ing good”

Nothing like the joint to teach you how to ease another man's tensions..
Buscemi is brilliant
It was a joke!
He dropped into a death stare when he said “you crowding me”. Tony noticed it & stumbled back
Definition of:"Bro made sickest Tony B edit and thought we wouldn't notice". XD
Your crowding me , one of the most badass quote's in The Sopranos
Buscemi has always been one of my favorite actors, Dude can act with the best of them, and some even better
Boardwalk empire
Cold as ice chills went down my spine when he said “you’re crowding me”
And actually made Tony flinch a little and squint while boring straight into him with his eyes. Terrifying dude!
Man, I'm glad I called that guy!
Blundetto didn't realize that Tony woke up this morning, got himself a gun....
I'll die thinking that sopranos is one of the best series of all time which even inspired BB
You could tell as Tony was walking away there was twinge of intimidation and even a little fear. Look how Tony blinks and has a hard time keeping eye contact
Idk why people try to use body language as the determining factor if one's scared or angry.. I'm a fighter and some fights look down in face offs or look away before the other.. basically it doesn't matter and you'll only find out if you go there
@@PDaddy0120 its also acting so its not like you can really deep dive and nitpick into body language too much because theyre not really feeling those emotions, even if theyre great actors (which they are)
@@PDaddy0120 nah man, if you’re not afraid of the person you gonna fight there’s no reason to look away
@@PDaddy0120 Why do we use Body language? Well you fighters are looking for _physical cues/positions_ for attack, right? Or you don't care because a real fight is already assured.
But! In Psychological face-offs & acting, _Body Language is everything._
@@PDaddy0120 body language in real life is more ambiguous, but great actors like Gandolfini do things very intentionally
He wasn’t scared one but he knows who Tony really is a bully
