I've only had to work on a snowblower once so far but man they really need to start welding the bolt heads like you're doing. I thought working on cars was bad LOL. Looking forward to seeing how that beast moves the snow if we get any this year!

We finally got 4" of snow, so I shoveled what I had to, and left the rest for the plow. I put the 3 horse Briggs on, but discovered that the V belt was too loose, even with 3/8" of shims. So I made another 1/4" of shims, and modified the tensioning roller bracket so it had more travel. In the end the V belt is so close to itself that it touches sometimes, so ideally I need a slightly shorter V belt. But the contraption works, plowing the snow without major wheel spinning, so I am happy with it. So now I will try some modifications to it so it works even better. I think the plow design needs some attention so it doesn't pile so much up in front of it! Sounds like I will be zip disking more steel, and welding outside in the winter! :) Take care.

Thanks, it is a low budget attempt at making a Snow Bull type plow. My son thinks I will have traction problems, if so I will try to add weight. He discovered another possible solution, buy a used tracked snow blower cheap, and convert it, that way it should have enough traction. We shall see how it works out fairly soon.

For the wheels, you could probably cut the middle out and bolt on a wheel hub that fits the shaft, and so long as it's as centred as possible, balancing it is not really necessary unless you plan on racing the thing in the summer... :P

Actually that is a good idea. No, definitely no plans for racing it in the summer!!! :)

Once I get the motor on and have some snow to plow, I will make a vid of how well it works.

I wonder if the snow will bunch up in front without an angle to the plow.

That looks like a good solidly built weapon to defeat the snow! No Chineisium parts in it anywhere!

If the liberals are correct you should never need that thing. You will be as warm as Miami. If they are wrong you will need that pretty soon. Weather has been changing on this planet for billions of years.

Yes, I agree! This year seems to be a La Nina winter, warmer than normal, with the possibility of lots of snow. Yes, the planet cycles from 1 ice age to another. thus the climate is always changing, don't try to tell them that though. It is better to insight hysteria in the masses so they can rape the planet another way claiming to save it by using electric cars! Incredible.
