The X-79 was 7,90 meters long, it was launched in 1979, and the first ones were sold for 79.000 DKK
Had a lot of fun with X-79 D-1 in 1980 and 1981!

Andelsbanken is currently in Breskens, Netherlands. We admired this fine machine back when we had our Dynamic 43 there. The Dynamic is our 2nd boat, our 1st was an X-79. I still regret that I swaped my DEN289 for a First 31.7. I had tons of sailing fun with the X, more than with the First. Nowadays I admire the stern of the X79's in regattas with my J22.
If they are sailing the X79 properly then it will totally blow away a J22 upwind.
In very heavy winds downwind the J22 is faster but both are sailing well.

Great Video. A few years ago I owned the X79 no. 14. It is a great boat. I raced the Silverrudder a few times now but never with my X79. ( I sold it a few years bevore)
I think it would be fun to race against some similar boats. Unfortunately my DIVA 39 is the only one in the race this year. I come over with some beer to you when I see your boat. What is the Name of your boat?

Where have you been? Me my boat and the Beer were there 😀. Then I saw on the list that you did not start 🤔. It was a great race probably the best silverrudder ever
@@CaptainRock81 Unfortuanetly skipper was hit by appendicitis a few days before the start... Follwed the race on the tracer and must have been a blast to sail this year... Videoupdate will follow soon here about the situation and changes made the last month before the Silverrudder.
