I'm Filipino and I've tried it and it's actually really fun but stressful and terrifying at the same time lol
Why stressful and terrifying? It’s a dance. How threatening can it be if I was taught this in kindergarten?
@@tonguepetals the risk of getting your foot slammed between the two bamboo sticks stressed me out as a kid, but maybe not for you.

We got to do this in grade school in PE...so much fun! We even had the music right. :)
wow galing ah, lakas maka trowback ,nalala ko nong high school sumayaw kame nyan ang saya.nakadalawang panood ako ngayon lang ako ulet nakapanood ng ganito
I used to do this as a little one glad I got to experience the culture and embrace it while I was young. Hopefully our future children will help keep it alive!
We did this as a mass dance for the centenary festivities of our school, Bloemhof High School in Stellenbosch, South Africa, 1975 and I only now learnt that it is called Tinikling. Was such fun!
I did this when I was in elementary school 40 some years ago. Oh the memories
i really applaud anyone who could do this successfully without hurting themselves, because as an nonathletic and physically unfit person this dance is so hard for me
I love doing Tinikling because I am from the philippines
I used to do this as us young girl! I had totally forgot about those until my personal trainer has actually had me go on the floor and stand back up. I had breast cancer and had not laid on the floor for over five years! These sticks came to my mind this dance came to my mind. I want to relearn it! Actually, I learned dances from all over the world. So now I will be relearning! Thank you!!!!
Iam doing that dance for school it's kind of hard but fun that's why I watched this video to learn more of the dance 💃!
Woah this dance "Perfecto!" From UK :)
I had a Philippine teacher in 5th grade and we leaned this dance and did it in an assembly. It was so fun
In india we too have this similar bamboo dance in the state of mizoram
That is the best version of the Bamboo Dance in the world and is originally called Cheraw
This is so cool! I know absolutely nothing about the Philippines and its culture and now I really want to learn more

Top 3 most fun dances
3. Zorba
2. Hora
1. Tinikling
considering this is similar to other dances in SE Asia. dont see how this one tops those...
I remember being taught this when I was in kindergarten. I didn’t remember what it was called until I googled it. The stranger thing is we are from Canada so I can’t think of why we were being taught this.
I did this when I was little too
i tried this in my class it was so hard and painful
Cindy Nesseth fuck u racist
i'm a filipino and i agree, but i got used to it because of the rhythm :)
It's more fun in the Philippines..Basta pinoy magagaling..
Tinikling ain't Philippines National Dance.. It's just Philippines Traditional Dance.. Their national dance is Cariñosa
I don't really like Cariñosa, not like a totally hate it in-fact it's a beautiful dance. I had to do that for P.E and I attend an all-girls school. Just imagine how awkward it was to like stare at my friend's eyes . _ .
hah! same.. But I think It's better that Cariñosa is our national dance because my teacher said that Cariñosa best describes Filipinos but really.. *That's really awkward*
Amen
If cariñosa is there national dance why aren't we seing careñosa doing this?
Darien Wright oo nga mas madali pa yung cariñosa pero nakasunok na ako nito noong gr.6
Thanks sa pag-upload ng video na ito malaking tulong ito para sa presentation namin thank you talaga...😀😀😀

nicee!
can i use this music on my video pls? :)
Me too, but its only the IB girls....if u dont know what IB is, look it up.
Is this made from america or phillipines
what is the tittle of the song use in this dance
I SWEAR THIS IS MY MOM 0MG
I can't tell because of the music. Is there any sound of the bamboo hitting the {floor?}
Yes. The bamboo keeps the rhythm of the whole dance.
+Green The Sceptile I wish the music weren't so loud, then, so that we could hear that.
***** Cool!
Yes
'N i be half Filipino 'n i don't care how message up dis is gonna sound but day look like dumd retards
Mizuno Misaki Suzaku My thoughts as a fellow filipino, honestly too!
it is simply called Tinikling ... same as the dance
ang galing pero segurado ako bago ka matuto nito maipit muna ang paa mo.
because im a pilipino
try break dancing to this
So interesting how this is considered a dance and not an obstacle course... I wouldn't think of dancing when you are constantly thinking of having bamboo slammed around your ankle, ruining the dance.
can anyone teach me how to dance tinikling?
Maganda !
@beautifulcreature314 me to im in IB do u go to CFIS???
The clappers look mad
Woah im,an ib girl to do u go to CFIS??
