Yes, there’s nothing better than fresh from the oven homemade bread. Huh...I wonder if I’m part German. I’m very direct, and I prefer others to be that way with me also. I’m blessed with very polite people in the area that I live in Pennsylvania. I’m always surprised by how cordial they are.

Homemade bread is the absolute best! It’s definitely also a personality thing, directness isn’t always bad and i do sometimes struggle with figuring out people’s true intentions and feelins in the UK 😅

Had a great time watching this while I was taking a break from work :) Bin auch Deutsch, aber wohne fast mein ganzes Leben schon in den USA. I'm really fortunate that my parents made sure I spoke and learned German, but I can 1000% relate to not always feeling confident speaking it. This past year I started listening to a few German podcasts to brush up on it and that's really improved my confidence. Weird Crimes is my favorite and I can highly recommend-- the hosts are so funny but also incredibly well spoken. So yeah-- greetings from a fellow transplant :) Love the look of your current project-- do you have any idea what that stitch pattern might be called?

Tbh I am completely obsessed with your channel. Your content is so inspiring & I loove your aesthetic. I’m kinda embarrassed to admit that I am waiting for your video every week 🫶.
I know this is silly but I am german too and it makes me feel kinda connected to you 🫣.

As a new knitter, why are you not a fan of cotton yarn? Would love to see a vid on your favorite types!

I've seen many knitters say this. It's usually because cotton yarn doesn't have the same natural elasticity as wool or acrylic, so it's not as forgiving when it comes to fit. That lack of elasticity also means mistakes and uneven tension can be more visible in the final product. Personally, I love cotton and used it for quite a few projects when I was a beginner. It's more comfortable and durable than acrylic because it has the ability to absorb and release moisture. It's also much more environmentally friendly than acrylic yarn, which is made of plastic, i.e. fossil fuels. If you're a brand new knitter and want to make a garment from cotton yarn, I say do it! Just try to find a pattern that uses cotton yarn so you can avoid the unnecessary fit issues that can stem from using a different fiber than what's recommended.

why don't you like cotton yarn that much? :) greets from germany hehe xo🌷

I find it quite hard to grip and to get a good consistant tension on it especially with knitting. I generally love more fuzzy and mohair type yarns but I don’t mind crocheting with cotton yarn every now and again 💌
